Management style games

Are there any decent management games for (American ;)) Football? Given its such a stat heavy sport it would seem to be ideal for these to exist. In Madden for example probably my favourite bit is the draft :)

For soccer there's a long running franchise called Football Manager which is the mutt's nuts. Something similar would be great.

EA tried out something like that with NFL Head Coach. It sucked.
