Believe it or not, he's had 3 comeback wins this season (Oak, Buffalo, NE) and four in 2016 (Cleveland, Buffalo, SD, LA). The more I look, the more I think he can rally the team when he has the correct game-plan to actually execute.
Bridewater is healthy.. he’s def a viable option for us..plan b is to keep your eyes out for the next Wilson, Mahomes, or Watson.
Yeah as want to find a QB that is clutch and can be looking at like finding a QB over in the scheme of things that could fit the Fins.
Tannehill will win as a valuable backup, much like Chad Henne will potentially win in KC backing up Mahomes. We won't be kicking anything in the butt regarding Tannehill because he's one of the worst starting QBs in the league that can't evade pressure, extend plays or read a defense properly. This woe is me narrative is funny tho - I guess you forgot about the NE game early on where he had plenty of time to throw and got stifled by Bellicheck. This is who he is more often than not. And this is who he will always be. Feeling bad because we don't have a HOF OL or HOF running game to make life easy on Ryan is just another excuse. Watch and see how good next year will feel without him. I promise you all it will be better than the atrocious offensive output we've seen since his arrival.
He’ll do the same somewhere else what he did here..and some fans will see it correctly and some won’t..
I wonder if our fans have ever actually watched Bridgewater play to think he's an improvement. I've said he's an OPTION but one likely to fail or be a wash. He hasn't played much in 2 seasons in a row and his TD to INT ratio wasn't good when he did start. Had Tannehill started all 15 games he'd be projected to have about 25 TD and 10 INT which is a strong ratio and what you want in a QB.
And people said I was crazy when I said this... https://www.theduel.com/posts/62573...lphins-cut-the-qb-after-season/partners/40734
No offense, Bumrush, but you have flip-flopped over this numerous times just over the last month. I have no problem moving on from Ryan, but to speak in absolute truths or facts about him and to be adamant about it seems a bit emotional and disingenuous. I think the time to move on has come, to make it seem like you always felt this way is not accurate. Like most fans, we have sat on the fence with him. I am just not going to pile on, as he walks out the door, and make it seem like it was always a no brainer
Yes I have. For the most part I've been critical of Ryan, specifically related to him standing in the pocket like a statue and being unable to avoid pressure. He's also poor with anticipation. Rarely do you see him throw the ball as the WR makes their cut. At the end of the day I saw glimpses of talent but ultimately they were just glimpses. After 7 years and a losing record, I've concluded that he'll be what he's always been - A middle to bottom of the pack QB that doesn't have the ability to be a franchise turning QB. He's a glorified Chad Henne with a potent arm but he lacks the quick twitch abilities you need at the position. Was I excited to have him back this year- Absolutely. Did I think he could feed off his strong second half in 2016- Yes. Did I buy that something switched in his head before he got injured against Arizona - Yes. Did that translate on the field. NO.
Too much to address on my phone. I’m not one of these kids that can type forever lol. All I’ll say in response to your 2nd paragraph is this, put Brady, Rodgers or Brees behind our offensive line and you get Tannehill like numbers as well.
All fair. my friend. Just came off as a bit of hind sighting. I totally understand the tease with Ryan...but its time to move on
i swear but part of me wishes he went to one of those teams just so he could get away from the insanity that is the Dolphins and get a chance to win a couple of rings. I want him here next year (cant stand the idea of wasting all those years) but if he goes I'll truly be happy for him. I truly think this has finally become the worst organization to play for in the NFL. People talk about getting a new coach. We are going to get rejected by every grade A head coach candidate and will instead be stuck with the leftovers like Philbin again
Yup, nope, we’ve never watched Bridgewater and yup, let’s just roll with tannehill, because when he has played boy has he played well.. Especially those last three games where his offense failed to reach two hundred yards.. Y’all need to say your peace with the guy, he’s done here, he’s very flawed, but keep thinking he has nothing to do with what we’ve seen from him in 6 years, keep thinking he will go elsewhere and thrive, rock on man, rock on.
DJ I want to say something and I hope you aren't offended dude. I used to go by Alex44 and I rember you making very insightful, well thought out posts. Ever since you were "right" about Russel Wilson though your posts have become extremely condescending like you don't want to hear what others have said. Honestly I dont even want to have a fun friendly debate with you now because of the tone you take with people.
The thing with Bridgewater is that he will be cheaper than Tannehill. Money is the only reason to get rid of Tannehill.
Sorry Alex...when you insinuated that the ones lobbying for Bridgewater haven’t even watched him and that if he does come here it’s probability a fail or a wash, its insulting to folks that have looked at every rep and do think he will be an upgrade based on those findings.. I don’t usually go there, but at this point folks still hanging onto the opinion that it’s not tannehills fault that he is the qb I or anyone thinks he is, is becoming quite frustrating when you not only defend him but insult the poster that thinks there’s better out there.. Maybe you didnt realize you did but you did.. some of us spend a lot of time making an informed opinion.
I'm glad you have done a lot of research on Bridgewater. That makes me feel a lot better if we are able to sign him. Disclaimer: As for having an informed opinion, I would like to apologize to everyone, in advance, because I usually don't have one. I am just a casual fan that likes to talk about Dolphin's football and share my uninformed opinion. I go by gut and what I see. Because I am an emotional fan, I look at things like passion, effort, the will to win. However, that doesn't necessarily mean I am informed. I don't know enough about football X's and O's to be informed.
The amazing thing is the excuses change but the results and basically the same flawed player we’ve seen most of his career still persists.
Actually, people are saying the same thing today about Tannehill that we said all along. He's had a **** oline, and way too many coaches.
It’s all good brother, I really like your personality on the forum, it’s genuine.. deep down we all love this team, for me evaluating players is my passion, I enjoy the process and competitive nature of being right about those evaluations that go up against the pundits and other industry professionals..
