Duh...who couldn't see that one coming?

As if it makes a difference, no CBA, no Franchise Tags, and also no signing Free Agents which makes this largely symbolic and ripe for a lawsuit, but still as they point out, the Patriots were never going to let him leave without draft picks coming back their way.

I bet Mankins had a good laugh at that. Kraft backed out of a promise to do a long-term deal with Mankins, which is the main reason why Mankins wants out.

"Mankins is going nowhere until we receive at least a second round pick for him"

Interesting thing about the Patriots, they apply, then remove, the Tag frequently, but rarely do they actually pay the Franchise Tag number, it is more of a tool.

"if" no one is dumb enough to offer a trade for Mankins the Patriots are screwed..but someone typically does cough up a pick..the NFL can be very stupid.

Yes, but for the right contract, I'm sure Mankins would be willing to give Kraft a hug..

You gotta love the Pats, this team never gets bent over and taken advantage of....here is a guy who sat out 10 games because of the tag last year, made it known he doest want it......so what does BB do....slaps it on right on him again without hesitation...
