So I just heard Marc looks like he will be out for the Tampa game. I heard Rexs' press conf and he confirmed he will not be starting on Sunday... This might shed some light to Tampa and maybe some of the other teams playing the jets in the coming weeks... http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/12/ny_jets_quarterback_mark_sanch_11.html Do you all think this kills there remaining games???
Crap. Actually, I get this eerie feeling that it might help the Jits. Because now they don't have somebody to throw the ball to the other team on a regular basis.
trouble in paradise lol http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...1DubYF?slug=ap-jets-sanchez&prov=ap&type=lgns
Sanchez is going to be a bust of the biggest sorts. Called it BEFORE the Jets drafted him, so it isn't Jet hating. I dont think whoever they replace him with could possibly be worse.
Well I don't think he's a bust based on how he has played, I think he is a bust based on the fact I don't think he has the talent to play NFL football.
I don't think he"ll be a BUST (And I have been a huge critic of his for almost a year) but I don't think he will ever be more than a mediocre QB....leading the Jests to a couple of 8-8 seasons
Well when you turn out average as the #6 overall pick, when your team traded up to get you, IMO that is a bust.
Or that I don't believe he will correct it, because there is so much. His mechanics are so poor that I think it will take the next two seasons just to improve them to the point where they are "average" or slightly above average. He has so little game experience in college that I think it takes extra NFL time for him to really catch up to those type of things that happen on the field. The locking on to receivers, just everything. There is so much to work on for him, and I dont believe he will be given the time to do it.
well thats my thing I don't see things he can't correct at least from most of the criticism ive read. i agree though i dont think he'll be given the time to correct it in new york especially. if he starts getting hurt though, and does so in year two ill be willing to say hes a bust.
I would say that reaching for him where they did was VERY unwise, and he does have bad mechanic issues, especially his footwork and locking on. Fat Rex of course compounded it by setting this kid up to fail. - - He has a Long Long uphill battle that is for certain.
Kind of reminds me of a David Carr situation honestly. Carr probably could have been successful in another situation, but never really had a chance to become an elite QB because of the situation he was placed in.
Unfortunately this gives the Jets a better chance to win. I was kind of hoping they'd stick with the turnover machine. Kellen is a far superior QB in my opinion. Very different, actually. Sanchez has a RB corps that leads the league. He has a much better group of wideouts than Carr had. The Jets o-line is arguably one of the better ones in the league. Carr didn't really have any of that. I think losing Leon Washington meant a lot more than they are willing to let on. They were winning when he was playing, but after he went on IR they started losing. I know one guy doesn't necessarily control a team, but I think his being on IR is affecting the team, whether they acknowledge it or not.
I'm not comparing the situations as far as their teams at all. The comparison is that neither was/will be given the time they need to grow.
Ohhh.....I don't know about that. When given the opportunity Clemens has shown that he can find the other team's CBs quite frequently: In 6 games this year he's thrown 3 INTs. In 8 starts in 07 he threw 10 INTs Overall Clemens has thrown 5 TD and 11 INTs http://www.nfl.com/players/kellenclemens/profile?id=CLE075538
