What I want to know is how on the face of this earth did UNC get into the NIT with a .500 record (16-16), 5-11 in conference play.

Anyways, just filled my ESPN bracket with my friends... I have Kansas, Nova, Kentucky, and Cuse in the Final 4 with Kentucky winning it all. I picked Kentucky because pretty much everyone else picked Kansas, and aside from Evan Turner, John Wall is my favorite college basketball player to watch. I've been watching Kentucky since I was a kid, really. That's my squad aside from Miami.

Isn't it funny how Duke always gets the easiest road? Committee sure loves Coach K. They'll choke up as usual, though, and I can't wait to see it unfold.

6)Xavier v 11)Minny
5)Temple v 12)Cornell


oh and that Duke Louisville game in the second (provided they make it there) isnt as easiest as people make it out to be....trap trap!!!

I dont know enough about UTEP, Minny is the favorite for some reason, and EVERYBODY loves Cornell, but I have seen Temple play alot and they play sick defense...

any thoughts??

The Gator split with Miss. St. Each team won a game apiece. Gators had to play Kentucky twice, Tenn twice, and Vandy twice. Gators were in every one of those games except for Vandy in Nashville. Miss. State played in a much weaker division and never had a signature win like Florida. Florida beating Mich. State on a Nuetral floor was huge. The committee got it right.

They lost by 1 point!!! Every team has bad games. That game in the tourney vs Miss St did u watch that? They were drilling syots from everywhere. Florida was down 19 and they stormed back for a good game. Committee made right choice whether Florida wins or loses

 

You should really get ur facts straight. The Gators have went to the NIT the last two yrs. So now is it they only got in because they didnt want them in the last 3yrs? Please post something other than ppl tried to help the Gators. The Gators got in because of some quality wins and they shouldnt be knocked out cause of one loss in the SEC tourney to a team they already beat. Florida played in a tougher division and had a tougher schedule. Fact is Florida had a tougher Better year just not a better game in the SEC tourney.

 

They lost 4 guys to draft after there last national title. They have lost guys to the Pros every year after. Thats what happened. Hard to lose that many guys. That does not include seniors

One of the things I love about Boeheim is that hes never recruited players who had the intention of being there for only one year. Carmelo has said he intended to stay for 3-4 years and Boeheim encouraged him to go pro (which Boeheim has verified). But yeah it makes it very hard to build a program that wins 20+ every year. :up:

 

Gators played Syracuse and it was close! Should be a fun couple of days

 

Watching the early games. Thus far both Florida / BYU and Notre Dame / Old Dominion have been good games. I had no idea that Notre Dame had a Hansborough (Ben) on their team, so I'm suddenly rooting against them.

The early upset special appears to be Robert Morris vs. Villanova. I suspect that Nova will pull this one out though, as RM will likely wear down in the second half.

All the games have been pretty solid thus far though. Good basketball being played this early afternoon.

Why exactly is everybody so high on BYU?
I think they will beat Florida...but, have you really looked at their body of work this year? If not, I suggest you do. You migh be surprised by how little they actually accomplished this year. :up:

If Villanova can come back against Robert Morris, a lot of it will be due to a very friendly call that they just received on what should have been a jump ball. But right now #15 seed Robert Morris is up by 2 with a minute left to play.

The games have all been fantastic thus far.
