Read this at the other place and wanted to see what you guys have to say.
Would Marino have been a parcels "guy", if he had come back then?
IMO, I doubt it. Dan was too smart, knew he was good and was never afraid to stand up for himself.
Whether anyone likes it or not, it was mainly Marino's team back when he was really on his game. bp couldn't have stood that, 'cuz his ego is worse than most anyones.
So, what's your take on it?

No way Parcells would have said no to Marino, IMO. Especially in his prime. They might have clashed at times, but they would have strung a couple or three superbowls together, no doubt.

Just wondered if their personalities would have clashed. -
We all know danny was never on the same page as JJ, but to be honest, I think danny would give bill more respect.

I would hope that bp was smart enough to earn his respect also, unlike Mr. Hairspray. LOL -

Absolutely without question. For more on what makes a Parcell's guy read this article

So, under all his gruffness etc., he wants men to stand up to him and prove themselves, so they can stand up more on the field?
Maybe, just maybe, I'll learn to like him yet.
Thanks emale -
There was alot of talk just before one Draft, that we were going to trade danny to pittsburgh. can't remember what year it was.

Who wouldn't want a QB like Dan? Honestly, he's a winner (just not of Super Bowls).

In his prime, Marino would be any coaches guy... You don't have the talent he had and get traded/cut because a new regime has come in...Zach and JT were in the very tail end of their careers. Besides, as good as ZT and JT have been for the Fins, Marino was 20x's better as a player...there's no comparison in the stature of Marino and those two... Think of the relationship he had with LT and that would be the same respect he'd have with Marino...
That all said, I think the one thing that folks get caught up in with Tuna and the "Tuna guy" thing is that his 'guys' have talent. Sure, he may have scouted and drafted a player or had a player on his team at one time, but those players are generally decent players with talent...not schlumps off the street as many of the guys we've had were....also, the other perhaps more important issue is that he selects guys to fit his system, just like most coaches...I think, given his druthers, he'd rather have kept JT but and we have to remember this, JT is the one who wanted out of here, not the other way around...Zach was concussion waiting to happen and shouldn't be playing period. I just think that too much is made of Parcells guys when what he's looking at is "Can this player fit my system?"dolphindebby likes this. -
