Pro Coaches who don't use the 2nd part of the dual threat in the overall design of the scheme are making a mistake. Folks who think the qb should be all about the pocket are stuck in the past..if you have the talents at your fingertips and you don't design accordingly, shame on you.. With this particular skill set A defense is helpless if designed and called correctly.
But I will say that they are two entirely different QB'S playing in different systems..I will say again DJ...how important of a loss do you think it was for Winston when Coley his OC left for Miami this year? And all of that and he is still undefeated but will have very tough game next weekend against GA.Tech and Mariota will get his rematch with Az. Next weekend as well.

as important for Mariota to lose chip Kelly after his freshman year.. It's college, they have so many better athletes than the other guys, they should be undefeated..Winston a bit lucky I might add.. Would you please read all of my post before you think what I do or do not do objectively..I never said Mariota is not talented..he is very good..You and I have different ideas on what we want our QUARTERBACK to do is all...I prefer the drop back passer who is very accurate, has great pocket awareness, who can step up or to the side to avoid pressure and that can run when he has to...and it seems like you prefer the read option style QB who can throw or bolt and run....nothing wrong with what you like or what I like..depending on if you have the right QB for each system they both get the job done..I will say that with the system we are running with Tanny Mariota would fit right in and bottom line for me is..if he is a Dolphin and a WINNER then I am all in.

DJ if it is all in fun then that is OK..I just kinda need a nod to know that..I do like Mariota..I just like Winston a little better as he fits the style of QB that I like the best...he is far from My Boy as I am only talking about his play and field leadership..he had a horrible game last night against their biggest rival Florida but he still lead his team to victory..I do NOT like his off the field actions as he is still immature. Mariota had a huge night and was impressive ad hell. I told you I mainly follow him in the boxscores and have seen him play now 2.games...I am on the east coast..Florida and lately have had a hard time staying up late.
