http://miamiherald.typepad.com/fish_bytes/2009/11/marlins-trade-jeremy-hermida-to-red-sox.html whata disappointment hermida has been. damn.
As said in the Sox thread, I really like this deal for the Sox simply because neither Jones nor Alvarez are anything special. According to a Red Sox source the Sox made this move because they always liked Hermida and also because he came to them cheap (in terms of players to be dealt). Maybe Hermida can turn things around for the Sox as a back up OFer, either way no Sox fan can be disappointed in this deal by any means.
idk, i'm pretty happy. less strikeouts from hermida and we get a guy named alvarez (my last name). we need pitching and hopefully we can use the money that we saved on hermida for players that are actually good.
For all the failed trades, this FO has made very good trades. I'm not dissapointed Hermida left. He needs a change of sceneary. Hopefully he gets his act together and revives his career.
Its the phonetic prounounciation of LOL, I blame the Mor for saying it which in turn got me saying it.
Gotcha. Although I don't think it's crazy to think he can be a better ball player (especially as a 4th OF) away from Dolphin Stadium. Check out his home/road splits as well as his numbers against LHP and RHP. There are big differences. Maybe he just needs to go to a LHH park and in a platoon situation.
i look at it more as a failed draft pick than a failed trade. he already was platooning in RF for the marlins. i wouldn't put too much stock in this guy. has a nice arm, and a nice swing. maybe one day he puts it together. he was a good salary to cut. i hope his depature means the marlins keep cantu and other players. i wouldn't mind seeing uggla traded in a salary dump either.
