I dunno, it's concerning, but it sounds to me that part of this is just Marshall's playstyle.

Some receivers you need to have a strong chemistry with, and know where their hands will be, with only a few inches of variance to make a completion.

Other receivers you just need to get it in their general area, and from the moment of release they're good enough to predict where they need to be, and so long as it's in their general vicinity they're going to make the catch. I like to think that Marshall is one of those guys from all I've seen and read.

That being said, I think they do need to develop a chemistry though. I think if they can do that, they'll be downright dangerous, but even without it I still think the Henne Marshall combo will work out well for us.

 

Chemistry's most important for things like timing. Yes the QB and WR don't necessarily have to get along, but it helps if you have the understanding of the other player, which is mostly what they speak of when they talk about chemistry.

While not absolutely necessary, it IS important. Especially with a young gunslinger who can throw an interception or two. Mis-communications can create turnovers.

 

Hm, they must never practice together then if he didn't know how hard Henne throws after the first days of practice.

 

Im a big fan of henn but he now has no excuses. top Wr and very good RB's what else can you ask for.

Not worried about this at all, Marshall will continue to adjust to Henne's throws and the two will connect more easily every game. What is more important than chemistry to me is that the QB knows where the WR is going to be, and the WR knows where the QB is going to throw the ball.

 

Seriously...This isnt an issue, nor should it be. The guy caught 101 passes with Kyle Fricken Orten and no other offenseive weapon on the field at anytime. Yes, football is a game of timing, but as Marshall said, if he's where the ball is going, there wont be any problems.

 

Well it's not the first time he's had limited time with a new QB and that worked out fine.

you know when chemistry is built, the ota's, the practices, the two a day's, the repetitive nature of 2 hours practices...

Run the stinkin route, protect the QB, and walla, you have chemistry..

 

I get the sense B Marsh is growing tired of some of these reporters and their dumb @ss questions. They spent the entire week after the TB game over analyzing his 1.5 dropped passes, ignoring his 3 consecutive 100+ catch seasons. I'd be annoyed to.

 

Henne to Marshall is the least of my worries about this team.

If Marshall had the chemistry with his QB that harrison had with Peyton, then Marshall would have 130 receptions. He just hasn't experienced it yet.

 

I would assume SOME chemistry is needed. However, Im sure its not a long trek. I mean Favre was saying he was gonna have to get used to cammy when he over threw him :lol:

But its hard to not believe that once you play with someone for years, you start to be able to predict them, kinda like a best friend. Damnit I want henne and marshall to become best friends.
