They've been filming scenes for Avengers: Infinity War in my home city, Edinburgh, the last couple of weeks. A blue screen set has been set up in our main train station, and there was a large explosion created on set in the historic Royal Mile a couple of nights ago. Looking forward now to seeing Edinburgh appear in a major blockbuster, hopefully not too much hits the cutting room floor!

that's pretty cool. WE've been having a movie filmed in my town, Concord, MA. Just wrapped up. not same caliber movie, something called Daddy's home 2, but has Will Ferrell, Wahlburg and Mel Gibson walking around our little downtown. They decorated a whole section of downtown in Xmas lights and built a Santa's workshop.

Josh Brolin, who will be playing Thanos is several upcoming MCU movies, has now also signed on with FOX to play Cable in at least four movies in their X-Men universe. The dude is playing both sides! Now, if only they could merge the two, and he could then fight himself on screen.

Hmm, I thought it was far and away the best of Jackman's Wolverine movies, and far and away the best of the Fox set.
Very different vibe than most. It is interesting Unlucky that you thought it bleak and hopeless. That was kind of the point - to be bleak BUT to have hope for the future. Mutant kind fading, the old players all dying off, even the invincible Wolverine, and along comes generation 2 to step up to the plate.
It was also much much more of a road movie than an action flick, and also a great commentary on acceptance of things outside our control while working to make our lives, and that of others, better. Oh, and aging. Mid 30's me sympathized with the character suddenly learning he had a "daughter" while at the same time he is finally feeling the effects of age and hard living. Some quite heavy emotional moments, which you never really get in the other XMen movies or really even the other Wolverine's, and even to a degree the Marvel. It felt more ... cinematic/artistic than just a popcorn flick (which is was most of the XMen/Marvel movies are).
It certainly was a little slow in places, and some plot elements nagged at me (why would they stop at that family's house for god sake, they know ruthless killers are after them!), but overall I thought it was incredibly well done. The violence I thought was done effectively as well. That is what Wolverine should have been from day 1. Present, purposeful and brutal, but not the focus of the film. Simply a device to show what the man was capable of, and also he gave lots of commentary on how it affected him, and the advice he is trying to impart to X23.
Agree with this... and if you followed Logan/Wolverine's life in comics back in the 80's that's the way it was.
My favorite Wolverine Comic of all time is the first series Wolverine #3 where he's a drunk living on the streets with Yukio and fighting in bars to make drinking money until Yukio kills Asano and Logan figures out she's been playing him...
Even the cover art was bleak.

Separately, DareDevil's life the much the same with loneliness, misfortune, and regret as they fought common enemies while moving from woman to woman looking for love and a measure of happiness.
Its frustrating that we're in May, and still don't know whether Agents of Shield has been renewed or not. This second half of the season has been fantastic.

honestly, I think this entire season has been fantastic

I want to be alive, I am alive! Alive, I tell you! Mother, I love you, those are no longer just words. I want to hold you, I want to run in a stream, I want to taste ice cream but not just put it in my mouth and let it slide down my throat but really eat it. - Robot Morty

I've liked the whole season a lot. Just wasn't a fan of the Ghost Rider aspect in the autumn.
I'm encouraged that none of the main cast has jumped ship and taken roles elsewhere (at least openly), which is often a sign that a show won't be coming back.

I loved the Ghost Rider aspect. It surprised me that they can get the character down so well. It was something I dreamed of when they mentioned they were making Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Maybe if they can come back next year they can bring Blade in the mix. I would love to see Mac get his mind around vampires.
I first went into this final part very indifferent, yet they found a way for me to care about a completely made up world. I thought it was going to get stupid, I was wrong. Still need to watch the latest episode, planning on doing that after work.

Watched the latest episode. It wrecked me emotionally.

For a lot of my life I always wondered what my life would be like if my parents never got divorced and my mom didn't abandon me. Such a big part of my life. I could not imagine that all those years of pain and social anxiety I went through was the only thing keeping me from becoming a modern day Hitler.

Me too. Now they have two episodes left this season (maybe forever) to wrap a ton of things up
Especially because Mac's daughter reminds me so much of my own. Hit me hard every time they were on screen together, because it was obvious where its been heading..

GOTG Vol 2. tonight at 7PM. Will report back.
The Dolphins are the softest team in the NFL. Tua hater starting 12/11/22.

No spoilers though! I'm looking so forward to it, but can't go see it until at least next weekend.

Made me tear up at the end. *sniff*

The movie was hilarious. I think the first one was better, but Vol. 2 had some really outstanding highs in it. Lots little details and easter eggs in the film too for those with a keen eye and some comic book knowledge.
The comedy was better than the first. The story/bad guy were not up to par.

If Marvel's Agents of SHIELD was this good during its first season, it would have great ratings.

I just saw Guardians of the galaxy 2 it is very good. Mostly because my favorite actor Sly Stallone is in it.

Yeah, saw it yesterday. Definitely enjoyed it (seeing it in IMAX always helps IMO). Fun movie, still has some good humor. It didn't match the first movie, but I doubt anyone expected it to. probably the only disappointment for me is that the soundtrack fell far short of the soundtrack from 1st movie.

Just saw last week's episode, and it was terrific. Excited to see how the season concludes in a few days.
Also going to see Guardians 2 tomorrow.
Really enjoyed Guardians Vol 2. Not a 10/10 like the first one, but that rarely happens. Hard to live up to a movie thats now among my favorites of all time, but it was really solid and totally felt like it belonged. I credit that to proper planning, the same writer/director and most of the same cast.
It was great to get a better backstory not only for Peter, but also for many of the other characters as well. Like the first one, its able to mix action, juvenile humor and heart in a very unique and special way.
Tom Hardy will play VENOM.
Let me repeat that......
Tom Hardy will play VENOM!!!!!!!!!
It is due out October 5, 2018 and it will be directed by the same guy that did Zombieland.
This is fucking incredible.
