I saw Far from Home yesterday and absolutely loved it. This generation of spiderman is infinitely better than the previous 2 versions.
Really makes me happy too. Growing up, Spiderman to me was the glue of the Marvel universe, much like Batman is to DC. I would love to see Spiderman continue to be one of the centerpieces in MCU moving forward.

I didn’t love it. First half was boring.
Still ended up being pretty good

I saw Far From Home yesterday afternoon and enjoyed it. Tom Holland is really good in the role, and for me, this Spiderman is a really good complimentary piece to the MCU. I didn't like this one quite as much as the first one, but it was still very enjoyable, and as Marvel has proven themselves very good at, it uses the main characters and secondary characters at just the right proportions to make the movie click the entire time. I loved the cute side stories with Peter's classmates, and how that was used just enough to interject humor and break up the main story, but never too much.

Overall, its a solid, middle of the pack MCU movie. I don't want to say too much more without spoiling anything, but I'm really eager to see where Marvel goes next....

But I loved the twist in the middle of the movie, even if it wasn't a total shock that something was coming. And by the end of the movie, I realized that basically, Peter was the only super powered person in the whole movie, and when it came down to it, the only things he was ever actually physically fighting against were the drones. The movie made you think that it was a huge, dramatic shift in the MCU, when in reality, it was actually one of the smallest, most self contained movies there has been.

I saw it yesterday too and thought it was the best Spider-Man movie yet. They really nailed Mysterio.

Holy Cow, that's a lot of information! Here's a good rundown of the event from someone at Geek Tyrant who was there:

    https://geektyrant.com/news/marvel-...s-and-logos-fantastic-four-and-blade-included

Along with Blade, they also confirmed Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Cap Marvel 2, and the Fantastic Four are all in the works for some point. So we don't know the total time frame, and things can and will change along the way as they did with Phase 2 and 3, but right now we're looking at ten more cinema movies, four short series starting the film cast and being MCU canon, and the fun What If animated series staring "all of the original cast" in new adventures. And I would guess that if the series are well received and Disney+ sells well (it will), then we'll get more of those types of shows in 2022 and beyond as well.

I am personally very excited for the Bucky and Falcon show, which also will star Emily Van Camp in her Sharon Carter role and will feature Daniel Bruhl back as Baron Zemo. Its basically Captain America 4, but on TV. And given that Black Widow is obviously a prequel of some sort, it'll be the next "new" story in the MCU that we get, more than a year from now.

I'm excited for almost anything that Marvel can throw at us, but I am hesitant on the Dr Strange sequel, because I absolutely hate horror. I'll go see it, but with less enthusiasm than I would typically have for a MCU movie. I have never read a Blade comic, and hated the Wesley Snipes movies, so I'm not too up on that right now either. I also thought that Natalie Portman was the worst thing about Thor and Thor 2, so her being back for 4 isn't a big positive for me. However, if that also brings back her sidekick Kat Dennings, then I'll be a happy man.....

The disappointment for me is that Ant Man 3 isn't on the docket. And with ten movies at least in pre production, seemingly five years worth of content, I would guess its not in the works unless one of the others gets canceled. Given that Paul Rudd is 50, I don't know that he'll be able to wait six or seven years to get another movie made as a super hero. So I'm going to cross my fingers that he's included as a secondary character in one or more of the other ones, which has become a pretty common occurance.

And as far as Moon Knight or any of the other characters that haven't been mentioned, the same goes for them. Marvel has been using existing character movies to introduce others almost since the start of the process eleven years ago. There's also no telling who could show up in the various shows on Disney+ or where those will lead. Samuel L Jackson has appeared as Nick Fury in nine different movies, even though he doesn't have his own.

This author works out that a Fantastic Four movie is almost certainly not coming until at least 2023, and makes a lot of sense. Pushing an introduction of any X-Men characters likely into 2024 or later as well.

These are 25 of the actors confirmed to be working as voice actors in What If?

I’ve been thinking about this a bit and honestly I’m underwhelmed. No avengers, F4, x-men or guardians for atleast 2 and a half years seems like a long time. Hopefully they surprise us and one sneaks into the schedule before then.

Kevin Feige said that the things theyve announced dates for are the entirety of Phase 4. That's it. Implied by that is that this Phase will be shorter than the previous two.

The other projects that he/they confirmed without dates are definitely in progress, but there could also be other projects in between them as well, starting as early as 2022. Its apparently just the next two and a half years that are fixed.

Guardians 3 won't happen until James Gunn is finished with Suicide Squad 2. That's ok, because it's much more important that he do it than it being done quicker without him.

The MCU had a crazy run of movies over the past three years, so it's good to have a little bit of breathing room before going full throttle again.

Yeah, Spiderman isnt on that list either way. But it's also my understanding that Marvel and Sony still need to extend the deal before anything else can happen.

As beloved as Tom Holland has become in the role, and how connected to the story hes become, I really dont think they would just drop it flat. 99.99% chance theres at least one more MCU Spiderman movie.

It is up to the Disney and Sony higher ups.

Sony wants to keep Spider-Man forever and only desperation brought them to the table last time. Making $1 billion on Venom has given them some actual leverage in negotiations.

Understood, but it would also seem to be in their best interests to keep the deal with Marvel going as long as possible, given that it vastly drives up interest in Spiderman. If the Spiderman movies were Sony only with zero connection to the MCU, I certainly wouldn't go to the cinema to see them, and I'd probably get around to watching them on Netflix or TV, but it wouldn't be a priority. If Venom doesn't become a part of the MCU, I guarantee you I'll never watch that movie, or anything like it.

Far From Home is closing in on a billion dollars gross on a budget of 185m. Either party would be an idiot to walk away from the deal at this point.

Though it might seem obvious, due to the confusing timeline of MCU movies, James Gunn has confirmed that Thor 4 takes place before Guardians 3. This means that even though Thor flew off with the Guardians at the end of Endgame and shared a scene with them, he'll presumably return to Earth and New Asgard without them. I'm interested to see how that plays out, and think it would make a fun start to the movie.

People aren't really sure what it means, but Disney+ will feature content from both Marvel Studios and Marvel TV. The two were part of the same thing until they split four years ago. Now, whether they're two separate groups creating content for the same source, or whether the difference is only a label given to different tiers of programming, they're apparently back together. Given that Agents of Shield has finished shooting on their final episode and its in post production, my guess is that they're just absorbing the brand back into the whole.

What's the story with tv shows like Legion, The Runaways, Cloak and Dagger? Are they part of the MCU or not. These are all new mutants shows right? Are they Marvel characters? New X-Men?

Unlucky has it right. Agents of Shield is the only show that tries to tie itself to the events of the MCU, but the characters in the show are not acknowledged in the films in anyway i.e. Lady Sif showing up as a guest character. The Runaways, and Cloak and Dagger are Marvel characters but not X-Men. Both have their own comic series and their stories are typically set apart from what is going on in the Marvel Universe otherwise. Legion is a show about Professor X's son and ties in to the Fox X-Men films; however, Disney is in charge now, and they probably won't tie in any of the old movies or shows to the next iteration of X-Men.
