I'm thinking Flynn and MM would be a great 1-2. They are supposedly very similar so the game planning would be easier if one got hurt. Crazy to get rid of MM yet.

If we're not going with Matt Moore as a starter this season, we should trade him. There are guys who have done less who have gone for good value in trade than Moore, and otherwise he's a back-up for a year who will walk in free agency.

I doubt Denver is the team, though. Fox threw Moore pretty hard under the bus in 2010.

He's signed cheap and he's at least one of the best backups in the league so it'd be stupid to trade him just to trade him, imo.

 

They are not going full Tebow. Seem to still want to turn him into a prototype quarterback.

 

If I'm right about Moore and his downfield passing Denver could be a good fit because Tebow was pretty good throwing downfield. He ranked pretty high in Air Yard %, just like Moore did. Though both him and Tebow, Tebow to a greater extent, need to complete more short passes and let their receivers try to get some YAC.

 

Unless we sign Flynn, I'd rather just keep Moore this year.

I think if Tannehill goes in the first round, it will be to the Broncos. If the Dolphins do sign Flynn as you want, there would be no need to draft Tannehill. Flynn would only be signed if the Dolphins feel he is the long term answer at the QB position. If they feel this way, taking Tannehill in the first round makes no sense at all. Especially when the Dolphins have many other needs to fill on the roster.

I think Moore remains next season, no matter who else is signed or drafted at the QB position. If Flynn is the QB the Dolphins sign, I think having Moore as his backup and perhaps drafting Kellen Moore in the 5th round as the teams third string QB would be the way to go for the Dolphins. Moore could spend a year learning the system and he could take over as the backup in 2013 when Matt Moore leaves in free agency.

 

I'm guessing that Moore might rather self-amputate his right arm and beat himself to death with it than play under Fox again.

If they wanted him they could have just signed him last offseason, the coaching staff knew him so I would guess he wouldn't be in their plans. To me if they are going all in with Tebow then they need to sign or draft another athlete that can run and pass OK and teach them both the same offense. Moore can't play in the offense Tebow was in and Tebow can't play in the offense that Moore played well in this past year.

 

Never go Full-Tebow.

I do not see the point of having Tebow as your starting quarterback if you do not give him the best chance to succeed.

I think there is a better chance of a spread type offense working than Tebow becoming a standard NFL quarterback.

Unless the quarterback they are looking to sign is Dennis Dixon, Denver is going to fail going half Tebow.

Was there really hatred for signing a backup quarterback to a modest contract? I don't think so. There was exasperation that we didn't address the Quarterback situation with someone who could be a franchise QB. But it's fun to twist the past.

 

Actually, people didn't hate Moore; they just felt robbed that Ireland said there would be competition for Henne and most felt that Moore wasn't going to exactly push Henne.

 

There wasn't really an offseason for Moore to challenge Henne either.

 

Which sort of sets up a weird reaction, for the last 12 yrs, we've had a love/hate relationship with our Qb's, Moore comes in and has a good yr, and now Dolfans are just sort of confused now.

He's under 30, has a good arm, hits plays down the field, and now it's like "Draft a Qb!!!..But keep Moore!!!!"

 

This scenario is unlikely .Moore still has another year on his contract and he would be the only QB left after Henne is allowed to sign somewhere else . If we draft a qb he probably wont start right away and we need a low cost backup to start the season with .

 

Would you expect fans to be thrilled with the signing of essentially the 3rd string QB from the worst team in the NFL the previous season? I was happy to see Matt Moore do well. But do you really think he's a franchise QB? Because that's what Dolphin fans should expect of this organization. Find us a franchise QB.

 

We have no guarantee that we can or will ever sign Flynn. There is very little chance, if any that we could draft one of the top tier quarterbacks. Do we honestly feel like any of the other prospective quarterbacks, Tannehill, Weeden or anyone else are starter ready? Moore was better than Henne and did show some skill and right now he is the best we've got. Its kind of premature to be talking about trading Moore until we know what we have to replace him IMO.

 

I was not among the bashers. I said, at the time, that Moore was a good back-up with starter potential. And I don't see any logic in that trade for Miami or Denver. I think the most likely scenarios are either we keep more and draft Tannehill at 8/9 or we pursue Flynn and keep Moore. I do believe that Tannehill is a guy with franchise potential. He is not going to start immediately, but I could care less about that. In fact, even if we did get Flynn, I can't say that still drafting Tannehill would be a bad idea. I'd rather err on the side of too many QBs than too few. And if one of the strengths of this staff is developing QBs, then lets give them something to develop.
