Anyone else astounded by how poor he's performed this preseason? I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut and they keep an injured Garrard.
Nope. Remember when people were up in arms about him not starting because he "lead" us to a 6-3 finish last year? Backup at best.
Devlin is going to crush MMoores numbers tonight. Hoped Moore would look good tonight and boost his trade value.
You are not going to be happy then because nobody fits into Shermans system. Not just on this team, any team. Told you guys from day one we are all going to really not be happy with our new OC. As I have stated, there is good reason Sherman has been canned in more then one place. People think Irelands demeanor with players is bad ? LOL, wait until you see how nobody responds to Shermans methods.
Its not Moore, he has no offensive line, he has no receivers and little at RB. Martin is as bad at LT as he is at RT. Tell you right now, he plays the same as Jason Smith did with the Rams and he never came around and was just unloaded. Martin is a lot cheaper salary but his play absolutely blows and its against backups.
Has nothing to do about OC HC or GM. Fact is Sherman is an assshaat and will not last long because if he does, its going to be fugly.
I respectfully disagree---Devlin has out performed him this preseason fairly easily. I mean, our line sucks, but MM seems to hold the ball too long and I think telegraphs his throws. I'm not sure what magic he had last season (i saw it, too)...but he really dropped off as soon as RT was named the starter. Maybe he does want to be released.
I don't think he fits well in this system and he is absolutely getting murdered when he's in there. I was a supporter of more and still think he can win just not in Miami anymore.
Moore is a sandlot QB. Moore reminds me of Farve without the arm or any of the savvy-ness (?). Matt Moore can't make a quick decision to save his life. Devlin is schooling him.
Yep, cannot deny what he was at one time but he is not that guy anymore. Assshat. watch. He did all that in Green Bay then what ? They canned him and they canned him at ATM and it was for good reasons in both places. Man is an assshat. No one is denying he HAD a good career at one time. That time ended a long time ago.
No it wasn't. He filled in at the end of the panthers season after delhomme got hurt. No tape on him. No anything. Nothing to win. Nothing to lose. And he did ok. I watched alot of those games living in Charlotte. He liked to throw the ball up highhhh and let Steve smith to get it. He started next season, teams had tape on him, he was absolutely abysmal before being injured. Welcome cam newton, bye bye Moore. (not to mention they drafted jimmy claussen after moores "good finish") so they weren't sold either. Moore is and will be NOTHING but a career journeyman backup.
Matt Moore was 6-7 last season not 6-3. The Dolphins lead by Matt Moore did not beat a team with a winning record. Matt Moore is a backup or fill in QB and there is no shame in that. Please do not make Matt Moore to be some undervalued savior of this franchise. Matt Moore is taking up a roster spot that needs to be used for something other than a QB spot.
Moore turned the ball over 6 times in the 3 games he played vs. teams with a winning record last year. (I think?)
I'd love to know the stats of him against #2 and #3 defenses this preseason. Pretty **** I'd presume.
"Asshat" is not a fireable offense. In fact it's generally considered an appealing personality characteristic in the NFL. That said, Sherman was fired in Green Bay because he screwed up his personnel moves. That's an example of why coaches shouldn't have GM power, not why Mike Sherman shouldn't be the OC of the Dolphins.
Don't agree. But if I do have a premature gripe, it's that we haven't thrown the ball down field much at all. Subject to change week 1 I hope!
It seems like it's the system. He doesnt look comfortable out there... I really liked Daboll and thought he was a huge reason for the team's turnaround last year.
The players came in out of shape and it took several games to get players in sync with a new offense and then a new QB.
Wrong. It was the teams they played. The front 1/2 of the schedule was loaded (except Cleavland who they still coughed the nut without Clevelnads best offensive weapon). I don't understand the "It's the teams they played" theory. So obviously that would make him good enough to beat bad teams, something we haven't had a QB capable of doing in a while. Secondly since when did Matt Moore become the only player on the team? Maybe the TEAM wasn't good enough to win those games. You can't blindly say Matt Moore sucks because we didn't beat anyone "good". It's an illogical argument. I definitely agree this doesn't appear to be the system for him. If it was the level of competition wouldn't he be doing fine against the backups?
I'm not saying he sucks. I'm saying he isn't good enough to be a starter. I'm not going to go all stat monkey, its just obvious you do not build a team around him. What is the excuse for his record last year? The system was designed to beat ****ty teams but not good ones? He can't have it both ways. The team needs a QB that makes the players around them better. Matt Moore is not that guy. If you want the team to aspire to mediocrity in their play he is your man.
And just like the last 5 game fluke where he followed it up with being perhaps the worst QB in the league as a starter, he'll do the same here after putting up inflated stats off the bench against the terrible defenses of losing teams, leading us to a losing record with an average 18 TD's and 15 TO's. Fortunately, Philbin knows this so he won't be seeing the field for us.
Moore didn't play well this preseason, but IMO, it was the WR's that played worse. They dropped some very catchable balls. Can someone remind me why we still have Naanee on the roster.

No. They guy isnt good. Good for a backup maybe, thats it. Thats why I was so confused last year when people around here wanted this guy to be the starter this year. Just mind blowing. Wow, because we had a good run down the stretch, against all of the teams we should have beat on our schedule? Please. I wouldn't be surprised either if he was moved, or cut. They like Garrard, and Devlin has shown bigtime progress in this offense, no way he survives being moved to the practice squad. If im Ireland, either Moore or Garrard goes.
