If he is chosen in the 2nd round, it will be solely on a projection basis, he may be a great athlete, but he also is a late bloomer type.
IE if he was that great a Te, why is he playing De? If he was a great De, why is he also starting at Te?
If St Dic was playing would he still be playing De?
Injury to DE is the only reason. I dont think he played DE until this game but I could be wrong

Taller Te's can sometimes not pan out Adam P, they have trouble getting away from the jams and their backs can sometimes go south on them, Dave LeFleur comes to mind, he was supposed to be Aikman's replacement for Novacek, he just never panned out.
I do like his speed off of the corner the plays I watched him, he can really get up field, is he playing against Cheribus when he is in the game?
BTW Ryan is stinking up the joint right now...

You're right on the tall TEs. His problem is he's kinda an underachiever his career. He took off his senior year. You need a no nonsense coach (or VP like Parcells lol) to stay on him to make sure he doesnt goof off. As for who he's going against I'm not sure because Ive been focusing on Ryan and will look at Cherilus later. I actrually think Ryan is playing well except for that sack/ grounding play where he stumbled ont he spin. He's had some nice throws. He has noone on that offense and is basically going to have to play by himself in this game

Silva with the Int, QB shouldn't have thrown the ball, Silva also looks pretty slow really, he may have a bum knee or something..
All American though.

Ryan just tried a jump pass ala Brett Favre...it wasn't pretty....the official was in the way, the ball went directly into the ground over the middle...

He does throw off his back foot a bit but that's due to the poor line play for the most part. Ken O Brien disease

Nice play by Ryan, created some space and threw against his body for a TD...

Ryan will not win many foot races...sort of reminds me of Drew Bledsoe mobility wise...
It is strange, Ryan looks like he is trying to throw the ball over someone in the middle of the line who isn't there...???

The problem you have with Ryan is the same one you had with Cutler in Vandy and Beck on Miami. You have to project them with talent around them because they all played with atrocious talent around them

Actually he moves around the pocket alot better than what he's shown in this game. i'm not sure why but he looks like he's having trouble with the footing for some reason. He's had something like 4 or five partial stumbles so far

Not neccessarily Adam P, Ryan can be technically proficient on a mediocre offense, look off the safeties, plant his feet and stand in the pocket, maybe audible a bit etc.
Cutler was obvious in College he had an electric arm, he could make all the throws with a tight spiral on them even when Vandy was a middle of the pack team.

He's great with his presnap reads. Almost always knows where to go. Will use all options on pass plays when the first and 2nd are covered. He hjas no protection this year so he does tensd to throw off the back foot more than you would like but that's correctable. He's not gunshy. He does have problems with reading the underneath coverage sometimes. The underneath safety will give him problems but once again a good QB coach could get that out of his syatem in one year
He doesnt have Cutler's arm. He has more of a Brady arm, just good enough

Interesting, BC is going to the shotgun formation.
