Padre posted this in the club and I thought it was exciting to hear..must listen from a guy who watches a lot of tape..

Uses words like ''steeler like'', Elite''..Thinks were loaded along the front, thinks we have the best linebacking unit in the afc east {no brainer}, thinks we really could be special..
Also thinks with a healthy Carey were not far from having a great Oline...
Mentioned the reports that KC joyner had written about Henne, saying that he really had bad luck at the position because of certain variables, said he was dissapointed in his play because he was very high on Henne, but after taking into account the fact that he has a big arm, with no deep threat on the team, he said that was the regimes fault, and was a por job of surrounding Henne with pieces, said that he had no seam threat even though helikes fasano, said that ricky and ronnie were nothing to write home about, and both should be backups, said that Pouncey was a good pick for what our weaknesses were...
I sure do agree with a lot of what he has to say..He thinks were on the cusp of breaking out, and our defense could be special based on what he saw this last year.
I think we as a forum need some outside perspective.

Well also mentioned we need better play from the FS position for the D to make the jump, maybe CC develops further in 2011 and solves the problem.
Agree on the good perspective portion going back and forth on the same names saying the same thing over and over again is not very interesting. -
Completely off topic here, but is it just me or does Matt Williamson sound a lot like Ed Helms from The Office and Hangover movies?
I hope he doesn't curse the Dolphins defense the way he did Chad Henne last year. -
I'm not smart enough to know for sure, but we might have just been competent coaching on offense away from a playoff run last season. I hope if Sparano and Daboll turn out to be as bad as Sparano and Henning last season, then Sparano is fired midseason and Mike Nolan has a chance to see what he can do with this team.

I agreed with much of what he said:
-the defense may be a superstar S away from being elite (I'd feel more comfortable banking on Thomas to be that guy than banking that CC will be that guy)
-all QBs make some bad decisions but last year Henne paid more for his bad decisions than ever other QB (ie. bad luck)
-having a strong C is key for an immobile QB
-the OL could potentially be very good
-the F.O. did a poor job of placing pieces around Henne last year
-Brown would be a good option as a #2 due to his familiarity with the O. He also liked RW, but I don't agree he's as good of a fit. -

As for Brown, I could see it happening, but suspect they want to get younger.djphinfan likes this. -

The key will be takeaways. They need to get much better at that and then they will be an elite defense.
