A handheld system led in sales. Interesting. I shouldn't be shocked, the DS's at my house get a lot more action than the Wii which has mostly become a dust collector.

Woah 2:1 ratio 360 to PS3 on Red Dead Redemption...I thought it would have been a bit closer with the PS3 having some exclusive content and having a lot of ads. Maybe the 360 having the prettier version helped.

Also I hate seeing Alan Wake getting hardly any sales. I absolutely loved that game and it had some of the best gameplay and atmosphere I ever experienced. On top of that the story was at the top of my all-time list. I thought it would sell like crazy being on the 360 but I guess everyone is saving up for the next innovative COD or Halo game.

Good to see that someone else appreciated Wake. I loved it

    Same here.

What sucks for Wake was that it had to be released the same exact day as Red Dead Redemption. Hopefully people won't let it become a cult classic and start buying it.

I have the first DLC release date circled on my calendar. Hopefully a proper ending will come with it too.

Wake is a good game. A friend at work kept going on about how good it was and ended up bringing in his copy for me to try. I really have enjoyed what I've played at this point. [the first two episodes] The price dropped at Best Buy so I'll probably pick up my own copy at some point.

I don't think you could quite say the 360 Red dead beat PS3 by 2:1. That's a bit of a stretch. It would have had to have sold almost 200K more to be 2/1. It did well though. I bought it on 360, I think a lot of multiconsole owners default to the 360 for a lot of games, I've found myself doing that a few times in the past year.

Alright so it beat the PS3 version 1.8:1. :D

Also I am one of the few freaks who actually gets multi-console games on the PS3...I'm weird I know. :wink2:

I always default to 360 (for obvious reasons lol), but it's mostly because I think the PS3's controller is horrible now. 10 years ago when that style was fresh, yes... I loved it now. Now it's just too small and not up to spec with the 360 controller.

Of course this one of those debates that will go on for ages as everyone has personal preference. Some people are just very comfortable with the PS3 controller... I am not.

I think if you compare console totals to each other, the 360 didn't outsell the ps3 version on a per console basis too badly (probably 1.3:1 at worst).

I like the ps3 controller, but I like the 360 controller so much more. I really can't imagine how they could improve on it too much more. For me to use the ps3 controller comfortably now I use these:
    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IAOEXU/ref=oss_product"]Amazon.com: PS3 Dual Triggers: Video Games[/ame]

While not a big change, they (for me) make the controller much more comfortable.

Well I have to agree with both Mor and Stitches the 360 controller is much better and has a weighty feel that for some reason feels just right but I guess I'm so used to the Dualshock controllers that I just don't even really think about it.

Also I appreciate the stat beat down Stitches. :D

According to VGchartz (and considering they usually undershoot totals)...Alan Wake is around 520k worldwide.

Considering Remedy kept their development team small and not much was spent on marketing that should be solid enough to do the sequel.

Any multiplatform game I defer to the PS3. I think the trophy system is better than achievements.

Also, I don't understand what the problem is with the L2/R2 buttons on the sixaxis. I have no problem the them.

I love Alan Wake. Don't get enough time to play it as I have to wait until the girls go to bed. I have gone through 4 episodes. Definitely the best game for me since I got Mass Effect 2 earlier this year. My next game will probably be crackdown 2, which is out now
