    LMAO.....

That's the kind of accuracy that has kept the McCown family in backup roles.

    What's wrong with these guys?
Why on earth would a QB who relies on his arm be holding fire wood while his brother swings an axe at his million dollar arm?

It's dopey stuff like this that gives young Qb's a chance to play in the regular season and show what they can do out on the field.

For Chad Henne and John Beck, opportunity is knocking.

    That is what I'm telling myself...stay positive...breathe...

wow, at least it was two weeks ago. it should be healed by TC i would imagine. Not a smart thing to do though. At least have luke hold the wood while you swing at it... the changes of Josh starting for us are probably better than Luke starting in TB with their other 7 or 8 QB's

Why do you assume that? Because they were pretty much dead even thru minicamps?

OT: who needs firewood in Texas.....in June?

More likely he tripped over Brian Griese's dog. Or Brandon Marshall's McDonald's bag.

    Chainsaw.....

If he can't use an axe, putting a chainsaw in his hands is fraught with perils..dismemberment...putting an eye out...etc etc

Why wouldn't he just buy firewood or hire someone to chop the stuff?

They could afford the 50 bucks.

I dont think it's good that he hurt himself, because no one should have to feel pain and stuff like that.

    that said...YES!!!

This is awesome!! This means its between Beck and Henne. We didn't need a third wheel anyway. Woohoo!!!!! Hopefully our FO doesnt get any ideas about Brett now.

I wish this thread were titled "McCown Chops Off Hand With Axe"

    Imagine that.

(I don't wish it actually happened to him, but what a thread title that'd be. lol.)

He reminds me of Josh Scobee of the Jaguars who gashed his foot with an axe.

he's lucky it was only six stitches... lets hope it was the outside of his index finger, not the part that touches the ball, even if we don't want him to win the qb job...

Somewhere Parcells and Sparano have axes aiming for McCown's head.

Could be wood for smoking/bbq. I'm a huge smoker even out here in San Diego, just smoked 5 racks of ribs over July 4th, so that's the first thing I thought of.

Or, the wood is properly dried etc. and they're stacking it up for winter.

I seriously don't think those 6 stitches are going to cost him one minute of TC time...

Besides if it were a straight competition between Beck and Henne I still don't think it would be such a clear cut decision.

It is a QB competition not a fan popularity contest. Sporano & Parcells are not going to be making decisions based on what the fans & media have to say that is for sure...

Not as funny as when Jack del Rio had an axe in the Jaguar locker room and lost his kicker for a while a couple of seasons ago.
