Possibly for a late round pick. Batch is out six weeks with a broken collarbone. Dennis Dixon didn't do all that bad tonight but I don't know what string of defense he was playing with and he's still a rookie. I think they hold out for McCown to get released and pick him up then.

I cant see us parting ways with Beck just yet, even though Henne is probably the future.

McCown though... I can see pitt wanting him now with this news about batch, but I cant see them trading for him when they know we're probably going to have to release him anyways.

 

The team does not need two veteran qbs, especially one that hasn't shown he can win. By keeping Henne and Beck, their increasing their chance that one of them turns out to be good

I'd like to trade him for a back up tackle, if the Steelers had anyone like that available I'd make the deal in a heartbeat.

IMO it would be bad form to just cut McCown, signing a guy for decent money only to cut him is not the most competent move.

 

There are several QBs out there that could 'fill the gap' for Pitts...Why would they trade for McCown when they can get Leftwich, Culpepper, etc to fill in while Batch is gone ??

The more I see Parcells doing, the more the stuff he does makes sense to me.

 

If we're lucky, Pittsburg gives us a 7th rounder for McCown, but I think even that's a stretch of the imagination. They're better off signing someone like Leftwich and pocketing the draft pick.

 

McCown gets cut, just as soon as Parcells gets convinced nobody will give us anything for him. I'd take a 6th or 7th round pick but we won't get either IMHO.

 

PFT suggests Leftwich is heading to Pittsburg for workout and possible contract.
