That we should change up our cadence and rhythm, Felt like the Bills were getting a jump on our snap count. Are you kidding me? This was brought up early in the season and our team dismissed the notion. Now our starting LT,who has played on two other teams, says its a problem. How stubborn can this coaching staff be? Our OL is already at a disadvantage, this news only compounds the problem. Week 17 was the time to address this problem?...no chance to do this the previous 16 weeks?
Wow..I gotta agree with you there. If in fact he got that sense..there's being confident in your method..and just being ridiculously stubborn. I think maybe Philbin is being stubborn to a fault. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
As we watched that game, my buddy was saying the samething....those LB's were literally down to the millisecond it seems on some of those plays.....
I am not a pro football coach, can only make observations and let the people in the know handle it. Maybe the people in the know are not so smart. Lets hope they are smart enough to listen to him and make changes. I have to believe this info has made its rounds to other teams. Why so stubborn? WHY?!!!
Didn't McKinnie help out Brenner two weeks ago with advice during the Pats game. Players are doing the coaching, which is great, but where are the REAL COACHES?
Mckinnie just quoted "The change that I suggested will definately work, It will keep them(DEFENSE) honest now" Holy Smokes, is this a joke?
I have been saying since Week One that the cadence and rtythm has been a problem. what ever happened to the UP TEMPO we wanted to run? Why does almost every snap go down to 1 second on the play clock? I watched the game on replay and 2 of those corner blitzes came with 1 second left on the play clock. The corner timed it where Miami had to snap the ball just as he was running up across the line of scrimmage. You even see one where McKinnie didnt even have a chance to get out of his stance. Somehow we need to mix this up a bit...Buffalo has not been the only team to notice this and not the only one to take advantage of it
Can we please just take Jim Turner to the shed already? Hasn't he earned it by this point? Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
Wow. Finally we see a player or coach actually take a stand and say that it's a problem. The fans have been clamoring over this one all year but every time a player or coach has commented on it, they've summarily dismissed it as a concern.
Well we can't change personnel at this point so changes like this would seem.....elementary.....its hard to believe that we were reading this on a message board weeks ago....and its not an issue with the coaching staff? Wow. Maybe we can find a more flexible coach....maybe Dave Wannestadt is available...
The issue McKinnie is speaking of and the issue the board was speaking of are not the same. McKinnie is suggesting changing up our snap count and Tannehill using his voice more. The board was discussing go vs gogo. Diffrrent issues.
People haven't necessarily been calling out going on one on every down. People have been speculating that Go on passes and Go Go on runs tip off the D. I think us only ever going on one with absolutely no variation is definitely a big deal. The fact that it's always Go on obvious passing downs is definitely an issue but I'm not convinced the Go vs. Go Go thing is an issue.
My issue is not so much the "go" or the "go-go" as running the play clock down to one everytime and that tap thing the guards do to Pouncey before the snap
Knowing Philbin, he'll probably cut Mckinnie now for suggesting a change. Philbin always gets rid of voices other than his own.
Good point. I do think that the underlying issue is the lack of adjustments during games. We don't seem to be able to go away from the gameplan or adjust it when its not working. Simple changes in cadence or snap count shouldn't be huge issues to change during the week or at half time if we practice it during the week.
These are things that Tannehill has the control to change but hasn't. The timing and repetitiveness is the main problem, although the go!-gogo! needs to be mixed up occasionally at the very least.
The reason I think its correct I'd that he didn't mention our plays being tipped off. Just that they were beating us off the ball because they more or less knew the count.
Lol yeah God forbid a person voices their opinion. The go...gogo thing has always been in question with me. It needing to change...along with Mike Sherman and Jim Turner. After the Jets beat us I'm sure it will.
The Dolphins should have a random group of fans coach the team next year since they are on the field, in the game and seem to know everything.
Continuously lining up in the shotgun is bigger tipoff that's it's pass play. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Bills were amped, could see it, they had an edge. They were locked in and launching like rockets, there is a reason why they could do it
Having watched that game, I'd like to see that tried. They say that even a stopped clock is right twice a day, and I don't think I saw two good calls in that game.
well McKinnie calls it "cadence" not snap count http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...phins-1225-20131224,0,7308944.story?track=rss
