It didn't like he was anywhere near his max weight for 6 reps to me.

Form was clean. Wide stance is easier though IME. His bar placement, not using one of those sissy pads on the bar, and the wide stance were all how I liked to squat. More like a power lifter's form than a body builder.

Pete Rose didn't spend his career hoping from team to team and back and forth to the minor leagues. Willis did have a really good rookie year, and another good year in 2005. his remaining seasons were pretty mediocre (more losses than wins). To even put Willis in the same post as Pete Rose is a huge slap in the face to Rose. The guys a 2-year wonder and no one outside of the Marlins fans gives him a 2nd thought anymore.

I wasnt comparing dontrelle willis to pete rose, i was simply stating that anyone can **** up and suck, but it doesnt take away hard facts such as rookie of the year and helping a team win a world championship. i dont care if hes homeless now, he did those things, he is apart of marlins history, miami history, and unlike any dolphin for the last 38 years.....he has a world championship ring. So his nickname > than some no-name, hasnt done anything professionally rookie.

*I hope daniel thomas earns everything....just saying

Deangelo Williams missed most or all of those 13 games last season with an injury he said himself he would play through if they werent having a historically terrible season as a team.

I sure hope it wasn't. If 315x6 is his threshold, then he needs to do some serious strength training.

The reps were clean, he was probably ascending in weight...either way, i'am not gonna be maxin this guy out at 495 riskin injury, I'am working with moderate to heavy weight, with perfect form, to engage all the extensor muscles in the hips..You notice after the squats he's doing some plyometrics, you don't wanna be doing that after squatting heavy to failure..Good stuff..

That and 6 reps is sort of the first step down to 95% max weight for 2 reps, that is Olympic style power training iirc.

Those were clean easy reps. Could have done more I'm sure. A bunch of much to do about nothing imo.

Just watched some of Con's video's on Daniel Thomas, and I hope I'm the only one who is worried about him hitting the hole - he is S.L.O.W....but that may be (and hopefully is) play design. Also, a little alarmed at the amount of times DBs were able to bring him down 1-on-1 in the open field.

On the other hand the thing that gives me great hope with Thomas, is just how bad that OL was that he ran behind. I'm not sure there is a CFL prospect in the group, let alone an NFL prospect. It's a testament to him that he could average even 3 ypc behind those stiffs.

IMO, there is never a need to have a guy like Thomas doing 1RM sets. If ya did, then once a month at most. Every other week maybe, have him go to a weight where he struggles to get a 3rd rep. That would be the limit. Another good thing we see in that set, and telling how light it was for him...no belt. That's good to skip the belt on any squat sets over 3 reps. Builds and develops the erector muscles, makes the abs work isometrically, and allows one to breath properly.
