the hand punch! sounds like a video game move. lol. madden should have thought about giving gamers the ability to be an offensive lineman and push a button to utilize this hand punch move.

When we see Sherman in that QB room leading the conversation....maybe we will believe it then. Same if the coaching staff asks about the QB's and they look to Sherman instead of Zac. Maybe Sherman meant to be more hands on....but lets face it..he's got a lot of work reshaping this offense.

And honestly I think that assistant tag will come off Zac by the end of this season. The guy may be young...but he's got 'coach' written all over him. We might be sitting here in 3-4 years worried because some team might come along trying to poach him.

Hand punches are used in pass blocking often and I've never seen anyone get flagged for it, even if you choose to believe it has no effect on getting a DL to keep his hands down.

When Moore and Tannehill are shown throwing side by side simultaneously, their release points are as close as can be.

During the Carolina game, I think it was John Lynch who said that batted passes happen more often when it's likely or obvious the QB is going to take a short set and pass quickly, such as empty backfields.

Cut blocks can also help to keep a DL from getting his hands into the passing lane.

My sense was that cut blocks are easier to execute moving left or right than dropping back as an OL. Or for RBs and TEs to do them.

I could see that on a short rollout pass like a shallow cross
    Or drag route.

I say again, you're basing it off of what you've seen in Hardknocks which may or may not be giving you the whole picture. For all you know, the shots of the QB room, could be before Sherm comes in the last half of the meeting. They could have asked Zac's opinion after or before Sherm gave his.

You don't honestly know what you've seen and you you haven't.

You're right. I'm only basing my opinion off of what I know. And I only know is what I see on Hard Knocks.
But I think it's hard to argue that Zac Taylor has taken fairly significant role in coaching the QB's, while Sherman has taken a step back and seems to be concentrating on other things.

And for all you know what we see in Hard Knocks is exactly what is really happening.
Like I said, we're all arguing over semantics right now.

I did argue it and it wasn't hard.

We don't know what role Sherm is playing. Again, you may be right, but we don't know.

Well, if it's a quick pass, the OL doesn't need to drop. I'm thinking like if it's a quick pass to the left, a predesigned play so the left tackle knows it's going his direction, he'll be the one to cut block to keep the right DE from being able to jump as easily and try to block the pass, presuming he recognizes it too.

    I want to revisit this.

We know Tannehill had problems with tipped balls at TAMU, with Robinson as his QB coach. Now Tannehill has issues with it here, with Robinson as his QB coach. Philbin says Tannehill must improve at this but is this young QB coach honestly capable of teaching Tannhill how to correct it?

While I was impressed with Robinson's maturity on Hard Knocks is he REALLY qualified enough to be the guy we trust with making sure Tannehill (the FRANCHISE at this point) develops?
