Looks like it's official. Series director Keiji Inafune confirmed details to Nintendo Power. Mega Man 9 will have an 8-bit look, will be a downloadable WiiWare game, and is being developed by Inticreates. One interesting thing is that there is apparently a female boss, a classic series first.

Differ away, you're still wrong. If you're a Dr. Wily fan, how can you not like X and beyond? Wily is directly responsible for everything that happens. Anyway, it looks like MM9's basic story is that the eight Robot Masters attack, and Dr. Wily frames Dr. Light for it.
