Merged 3X:Ted Ginn practices with second team

I read another report that stated not to put too much in that because of all the different receiver packages the Dolphins have. Ginn later came in and ran with the first team. Ultimately we will understand his role based on how much he plays on Sunday. Beware of drawing conclusions from the practice reports.

Shutting him down somewhat is the best thing they could do for the kid. Ginn has some serious weaknesses in his game that they need to work on. Keeping him out there as the number one guy is going to do more harm than good. To the team and him as well.....

Give him back his KR duties and use him off the bench at WR......hopefully he'll be able get himself together and be of some use to us down the stretch.

I honestly agree with Armando's blog post I read today (weird). It suggested throwing him into the game at the start, and letting him get a few downs in, and then taking him out and giving hartline a majority of the reps, especially in higher pressure situations. Then bringing Ginn in 100% for returns.

Get him into the game early where a mistake isn't as costly (it's still costly, but not as much), and where he can maybe start working himself into a rhythm and be less concerned with HAVING to make the big play.

If that doesn't work, I don't think there's really much else you can do with him

he makes to many errors.
knocking him down the list and forcing him to practice fundamentals is the best thing. he needs to stop taking his eyes off of the football before he gets his hands on it. he needs to position his body better to make catches. and he needs to run his routes properly.

if can just stop with the errors, he could be a decent receiver. he either needs a better wide receiver coach or he is too stupid to grasp what they him.

Ted Ginn heads back to the Tuna's doghouse

Two weeks ago tonight, Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn made an impressive catch on a long touchdown that helped deliver a win over the Jets.

On Sunday, however, Ginn was back to eating pre-game popcorn, with multiple key drops in the 46-34 loss to the Saints.

Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen (who likely still has a pipeline to his former ESPN colleague, Bill Parcells), Ginn will see reduced playing time going forward.

Mort also said that, if the trade deadline were tomorrow instead of last Tuesday, the Dolphins would be dialing up the Ravens and offering Ginn to the team whose offensive coordinator, Cam Cameron, drafted Ginn in 2007 with the ninth overall pick.

So why didn't the Dolphins do it last week? In hindsight, it would have been a great time to sell high, with Ginn looking great against the Jets.

As a result, Miami missed an opportunity, and now they're stuck with Ginn through the balance of the season.

Unless they eventually decide to cut him.

So what do you think about that guys??

I've noticed when Ginn is targeted early and often (See: Buffalo game last year) he usually has a nice game.

With the exception of the Jets game, I can't recall him getting off to a slow start and then making a big play.

I'm totally in love with the Miami coaches (no homo).

The Seattle game last year he was not really doing anything until he caught that 40 yardish TD from Pennington (Which was his best catch of his career)

maybe we traded ginn's family to the ravens last week and that why he such a bad game. :lol:

I like this part now mind you this was only practice.
A bit later, Ginn lined up in one-on-one passing drills, beat new practice squad safety Nate Ness and dropped an over-the-shoulder catch in the end zone.
I said this weeks ago this kid lacks concentration plain and simple.

Brian Hartline should be our new #1. I honestly think he has earned it. This kid is a keeper, and Henne loves him.

The Dolphins on Wednesday basically began a WR tryout with each of the five wideouts given a chance to earn playing time and their starting jobs for Sunday's game versus the Jets.

"Today we went in there and said, 'Let's let it fly and we got five guys in there playing this position so let's let them all work and we'll go from there.' "

And that basically means practice, more than anything else, will determine what receivers -- Ginn, Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess, Brian Hartline, Patrick Turner -- you'll see get the most work versus New York.

"It always does," Sparano said. "It really does. It always does from my end. In my mind we have five players at that position and at the end of the week, we see where it goes."

So much for all the speculation.

During the open portion of today's practice, Camarillo was the lone WR with the starting group. It is not known how much work any of the receivers got with the first team during the remaining 90 minutes of practice, which should suggest to you the media (including me) doesn't know what happened during the close part of practic

Hmm...Brian Hartline would seem to be the natural replacement, but I'd love to know how Patrick Turner did, and what he showed.

Greg C, Bess, Hartline, we are not talking about a Wr corp that is exactly.."fast"...they all are really smart though.

It is good they are giving all the receivers an equal chance to show something. I am also going to guess Turner will be active Sunday for the first time. I am interested to see what he brings because he seems like a tall, red zone target.

I read in another blog where it wasn't actually a drop. Ness supposedly ran with him step for step and knocked the ball away. Which doesn't sound all that great either but....

I think that we should give Patrick Turner a chance.. He looked pretty good in preseason and he is a big target that Henne can get the ball to high.
Additionally, I feel that we should for the remainder of the season put Ted Ginn full time kick return/ punt return duties and he should also be involved in some passing plays, just in a lesser role. He is having Braylon Edwards syndrome.

He does seem to get better when they throw to him early and often. They did it in the Colts game and I thought he played pretty well. Well. until he dropped that last pass that would have won the game. :no:

He has some serious issues in his head imo and with all the expectations of him, I think it's getting worse.

I do expect him to play plenty against the Jetsons though. Their secondary puts a lot of pressure on Wr's but one wrong move by them and a player with the speed like Ginn can make them pay big time. He will also open it up underneath and I know some comments here will be but he can't catch so why respect him? My answer is simple. It's because their coach is a stubborn sob that won't want to let Ginn get that deep on them again. He'll have a safety playing backside help with Revis more than a few times but this time where he should be instead of 5 yds in towards the LOS.

Had the safety been where he should have been the last game the pass might not have worked. Ginn also ran the wrong route. The second he was past Revis, he should have headed to the pile on where he would have had no help coming his way. He would have seperated himself by 8-10 yds.

I just listened to Sparano and Henne's pressers on aquavision.
Go listen to Hennes' take on Ginn.

Sparano is on cool customer IMO. I love his expressions when the press asks questions he thinks are dumb.

Disagree his TD catch against the Jets was much better because he actually went up and grabbed it. ACtually that whole game he was a totally different player.

I'm speaking of the Week 17 game last year.
