Would we keep D Patterson and the slot Cb and move Cap Munnerlyn him outside?

He's a hard worker and can get a pick 6. Would be a very good nickel corner.

Didn't Chris Gamble unexpectedly file retirement papers yesterday? Forgive me if that's completely off, but I thought I saw that somewhere.

    Captain Munnerlyn

According to rotoworld.com, Munnerlyn is likely be be pursued by Miami. I like this. He has been viewed as a sleeper in this free agency period, especially with his return skills and cover skills.

His metrics are among the very best. I admit he's the one guy I never really got to as far as film study.

Sounds more like were shopping for Rum rather than a DB.

Could we just be looking for a bunch of nickel corners. Is that what type of cb our coaches want?

    An interesting point to raise.

But in reality I think Captain Munnerlyn's arrival would spell doom for both Richard Marshall and Dimitri Patterson. Unless Marshall were moved to free safety.

Hard to really trust the metrics on a DB that played in such a bad defense. They can be misleading at times IMO. I haven't seen enough of Munnerlyn to really put a price point on him unfortunately.

Maybe one but IMO not both. As scary as it may sound, they are currently the two best corners on the roster. Heaven help us if we had to start Nolan Carroll again.
I'm still thinking Ireland believes Marshall is a solid #2 corner if healthy, and that he has that position taken care of at a reasonable cost. Just my humble opinion. I could be wrong though.

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that your Christmas day is going to be ruined with scrooge at the helm?

I have zero faith in Ireland getting premier players. I hope I am wrong and we do get a real #1 Wideout and a TE along with a DE in free agency but I think we will see one or two free agents and they will try ti address the rest in the draft.

My dream and since it's my dream don't you guys knock it... Ireland decides lets do this. We resign Long to a reasonable contract. We sign Wallace AND Jennings and cook at TE. use bess and hartline as #3 / 4 receivers. We draft a wr @12. and focus the rest of the draft on Defense and depth.. Sign a few journeymen at postiions of need and go to the playoffs.

Of course this is all doable in myworld.

$170+ million on receiver & tight end PLUS a 1st on a receiver? Can we say overkill? lol

That's 30% of our salary cap.

The best corner on the roster whom the Dolphins for whatever reason chose to let go free rather than tender, may have been Bryan McCann.

That would be ridiculous. The fascination with receivers on this board is getting to insane levels.

IF we add Wallace and Cook to go with Bess and Hartline that should be it. When you need a right tackle, 2 corners, another pass rusher and a free safety you have to start ignoring skill position players and fix the areas of the football team that are riddled with holes.

skill position players is what this team needs, you can get away with some holes as long as you score TD's
