I don't agree with the truth that Tebow has a place in the NFL. If you look at his running style in COLLEGE it's three yards and a cloud of dust, that won't get BETTER in the NFL. Also he throws a very ugly ball a good percentage of the time.

incase any of u wanna know. Rickys xbox360 names USED to be pirulove34....
dunno if he uses it anymore, highly doubt it since ppl started findin out it was him, Piru- street gang in LA... so Im sure somebody made him rename it since no one wants to know he is affiliated with them -

What I don't get is why Marino is being lumped in with the idiots that keep dismissing the Wildcat. It's obvious in his interview that he respects what it has done for the team.....the team that he loves to see winning games these days.
All he said is that coming in and out of the game would be hard for him...I'd be willing to bet that any great QB would pretty much feel the same way.
I was watching a pre game show that Dan was on the other day and they had a couple guys debating the wildcat and you can hear Marino in the background yelling "it's not a gimmick".
I have no problem bashing Billick, Sims, Jaws, Deon Sanders and the others that have trashed it........but Marino just doesn't belong in that group. -
dont change who he is and he never been in trouble (real trouble, the weed thing is bull**** to me)Frumundah Finnatic likes this. -

finally a decent article on the WildCat
the worm will turn as we break PatWhite into the system
then it will get really ugly for defenses
when there is a consistent & viable pass threat present -

not a QB, but a RB/QB will make the difference
like Pat White  -

the team that takes him will commit to do what he does good. We, The Dolphins are commited to the WC, it works for us because we work at it and make it good. It may take another team another 4-6 years before they catch up and I bet some never will. I also think you will continue to see Pat White inserted when the opposing defense shows a certain look. The White plays on that last drive against the Jets was NOT one of despiration or stupidity. The game was on the line so the coaches had to feel good about putting White in or he wouldn't have been in there, period. I'm also willing to bet White will connect with Teddy for a TD before this season is over.:up:2k5 likes this. -
Here's my thinking on the WildCat: One of the commentators on MNF made a simple comment. The WildCat is the equivalent of an offensive blitz.
I would like to expound on that a bit. This is the reason it is here to stay and will likely only evolve. Defenses have been making crazy formations and adjustments for several years now thanks mainly to Bellichick (people playing out of position and creeped up on the line). Like the acquisition of Adalius Thomas who many thought would line up in multiple positions.
Now, through the single-wing formation the Dolphins are causing the defense to line up out of position. That isn't the reason it's working so well, that would be execution, but pushing the defense out of there comfort zone creates a mismatch itself. Just a little bit of doubt can cause hesitation which creates room.
This is why I believe that even if Henne becomes the next Brees/Manning/Brady that we will still see Wildcat (not to mention that it has become a fan favorite).dolfan7171 likes this. -
I'm sure they've expanded & been practicing a whole new series
of plays that favor his considerable talent. this just might be the
right time to unleash the dogs on the unsuspecting Saints.
Remember what happened to the Patriots  Surprise!Jeffrey likes this. -
If he can run successfully that changes everything of course. -

Also teams take a franchise like QB w/ the #1 pick in the draft which is much higher and important than #44 overall.
I am not saying the Wildcat doesn't have it's place. Can the wildcat win you a super bowl? Dunno. Can Peyton? Yes.
A better way to put it is the wildcat gets our best players on the field. It would do the opposite for the colts.
Not dissing the article or the writer. I just disagree with one minor point. -

Imo, the whole "you dont take a great qb off the field" to run the wildcat is all Bullsh$#!!
When you have a player that has the skill level of a ronnie brown, handling the ball, and making decisions that noone else in the league can make, then you go with the player in the right play..
If iam running the ball, i dont care if its dan frekin marino, sitcha *** down, iam puttin in ronnie to do what he does best, as opposed to dan handing the ball off. cause i know he gonna get more yards. it aint rocket science man....let me say this..
Ronnie brown taking the snap in the wildcat, is the most dangerous running play in the NFL. it has a year and a half of stats that can prove it. -
And yeah, the hell with who's at QB.......you still have to run the ball so you do what works best.djphinfan likes this. -
I would start that debate with the very poor ball handling skills of Danny during running plays.
Its a bogus arguement...talent rules....the Hybrid demands interchangable players at the most important position. Players that are highly skilled handling the ball in different formations...its brilliant man.jetssuck likes this. -
I think if Marino or any other current analyst QB out there, would have had the benefit of this offensive supplement and reaped the benefits of it........they'd be singing a diff tune.
It doesn't seem to faze Henne at all..... -
And let me make this point...I wouldnt be saying this if it were'nt for ronnie brown...he makes the formation special.jetssuck likes this. -
we have not seen the complete package
the snap is designed to go to anyone
w/ the emphasis on the run
however
when Pat White is involved in the system
you open a new dimension to the Wild Cat
the Single Wing is all about slight of hand & power
:escape:w/ the pass threat to keep the defense honest

But if it's the first quarter having Dan in there keeps safeties out of the box. See the whole Chad Pennington argument on this board.
So yea is some special scenarios when everyone in the stadium knows your are going to run then take out Marino. Every other time Marino being in there is better.
And let me cut off this argument before anyone makes it. "If having Dan in there makes the running game sooo much better then why didn't we run the ball better when he was here"? The Oline that was around Marino was a pass blocking first line. The Oline currently here is a run first line.jetssuck likes this. -
That scenario tends me to lead to the more absolute, which would be ronnie in the cat for 3rd and 4th downs.imo, when you can do that, you become dangerous. We can do that better then anyone in this league with ronnie in the formation..even in inclement weather, lol.
I mean the whole purpose of the hybrid is to get the best of both worlds. Proset and Smashcat working in harmony.
If iam GM of this franchise my whole staff is aware of players coming up that have specific wildcat skills...
C.J spiller would take more priority over another back with relative talent.mbmonk likes this.
