Anybody see this? http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...009/09/miami-dolphins-now-it-can-be-told.html This does explain a lot. Seeing Jake get beat around the edge is one thing, but getting Bullrushed was very uncharacteristic. I doubt we'll see that type of sack given up by him in the future. But I will admit, I'm sort of a Jake homer
I have confidence in Big Jake, that he will be a dominating tackle in the NFL. He is only in his second year and he is still learning. Hopefully the OL will get better and better as they play together and develope the chemistry needed to be a dominating line.
I actually remember seeing that during the game now... for some reason it flew out of my mind (probably had to do with losing the game in the end), but yes, he was late off the ball (and so was everyone else except Grove).
Jake will bounce back, believe me, Tony & staff did not give Long or the rest of the OL an easy week of practice after that game.
While there was some criticism of him and even a few of us that said that if this continues he might end up at RT........I challenge you or anyone else to provide a quote where someone says Jake Long is a bust, should be waived, benched, traded or beat behind the tool shed I'm sorry I just can't see the value of these kind of posts.....it's bringing nothing to the table as far as debate or providing any educational information. It's grandstanding, it's making things personal and IMO, nothing but clutter on the forum. People used to do the same EXACT thing in response to any criticism of Fielder and Wanny......and how did that work out?
Anyone who thinks Freeney is a one trick pony pass rusher, has not seen Freeney play or was not paying attention to him, while remaining sober at the same time, when they did see him play. He brings so much more to the table than just a speed rush.
If you look again at my post, I was having fun and being sarcastic, and I said Jake Grove, not Long. I was teasing, geez, gimme a break here
