Though if its us and the Colts, he is definitely going to coach Andrew Luck over Tannehill.

Dolphins and Colts Inquire about Sean Payton
How would this work out? Will we try to trade for him or ask the saints to release him from his contract? How much do you think he's worth if we do try trade for him? Also, what do you think he can do with this team as of right now and going into the future?

But like I said before Indy has a coach in place and still in the thick of things.

Also, Sean Peyton gushes over Dan Campbell and would most likely retain him. A HC that can actually call a great game and an OC with a huge nut sack. Can't remember the last time I saw that around here.

The difference is Ross wont be outbid but we have been rejected before for less money by Harbaugh and Fisher.Dolphinzdawgg likes this. -
People think Sean Payton will be available...why?

I'm talking about who your boss is, not who your QB is. It's still close though, even though one is a mettling loon of a drug addict.

Nice to see people trying to make this a Luck vs Tannehill debate. Not how the colts already have a coach in place and the team in a good spot to do something this year. Also, not how they have a legit crazy owner.

People were saying that kind of **** about Luck before he was drafted even.

I can't think of one good established coach that would want to work for this joke of an organization.

Pure speculation, I wish I could write for a living. My first article would be titled

The Colts would have to fire their GM if they want Payton and I'm not sure they're going to do that. The Saints owner is pushing 90 and is health is declining, his family have filed lawsuits against each other trying to take control of the franchise. That franchise is a mess.

I think we'd have to trade a high draft pick. Indy might honestly be willing to trade their 1st rounder or a package to get him, I wouldn't think that we would try to match that. If he's fired I would certainly hope that we make a play at him.

Honestly i hope Campbell is the guy but when you hve a proven coach like Sean available...
The thing is Sean knows and likes Campbell so he probably wont want to pursue this job in respect to Dan.Califin and Dolphinzdawgg like this. -

I think having Tannebaum with so much power over football operations will prevent a coach like Payton from having any interest in the Dolphins job. With his experience, I am sure Payton would want more control than Tannebaum and Ross would be willing to cede to him.
I suspect the best the Dolphins will be able to do with Tannebaum will be Mangini or McDaniels and neither of them are huge upgrades at the head coaching position, IMO. -
Payton will pick Indy over Miami, easy. Not because of Luck though. Because the Colts have already gotten blown out by two AFCE squads, will probably get blown out by NE (again). Meanwhile they are 3-0 vs the AFCS with Luck missing two of those games.
The NFL really screwed Miami by putting Indy in the south instead of the southernmost team in the league.P h i N s A N i T y likes this. -
At the time the Dolphins were still a competitive team in the AFC East and no one could foresee that the AFC South would become such a weak division, while the Patriots would basically control the AFC East for more than a decade. -

Very much a possibility, even if Campbell has a rough go of it.
Thing is, as opposed to the introverted Phailben, if Campbell shows promise, he may actually have the kind of outward substance worthy of developing into a HC.
An outspoken determination and obvious passion to succeed. Someone who's first words uttered reflect the very task which has become most paramount here.
To change the losing culture that has now blanketed, and virtually smothered this organization for over a decade. A stench that generally doesn't leave willingly, but has to be driven out.
Oddly enough, the rare kind of exorcism that Sean Payton performed for his Sainthood.
