The Herald reported that the Fins made an offer dated the 31 of Dec. and signed by Parcells himself. Go to the miami herald site and you'll find the article. (Sorry dont know how to put up a link)

RW might solve the problem at RB if Ronnie's not ready at the beginning of the season. ACL's don't heal overnight. I know he's not exactly a hight character but nor was L.Taylor. Also he doesn't have unlimited draft choices, he's got to find players anywhere he can, quickly.
What do we have to lose by keeping Ricky around? He will NEVER be our # 1 back unless Ronnie Brown, Chatman, and Lo Booker have season ending injuries. We could even keep him on our practice squad if necessary. Why not let Ricky earn the money we paid him. He is a good cheap insurance policy in case we suffer some more injuries at the running back spot. Anymore dope smoking by the Rickster and he will be done in the NFL period.
If he is coming back, I think he remains a Dolphin only until Draft day....have to believe he is traded for a pick.
That how I see it as well but most people want to get rid of him in case he does smoke pot again and burns the team, but this time around if he does he won't hurt us nearly as much because of the depth at running back.
Good arguments. I would add to the above that I do not believe that we have Chatman under contract for next year. If training camp rolls around and Ronnie is not ready to go and RW had not been re-signed then you are looking at going into camp with Booker as your lead back. I think the Fins were also protecting themselves from that possibility.
It's almost a can't loose situation. We have already lost dearly on the RW trade 2 years ago, money spent. Now if we use him to spell RB or trade him for a draft choice, it's found money. Takes some of the sting out of that trade, and if he goes up in smoke (witch I hope not for his sake) we loose nothing. Rickey has incentive for making this go, another big payday, one that I think he badly needs.
Agree 100%. Parcells already told VA Tech he didn't want dope smoking, thugs. I bet he's already got a few places he can trade Ricky to.
If anyone can get a draft pick for RW, Parcells can. If he let's him back on the team, it will be on a very short leash.
Ricky does not have what it takes mentally to play in the nfl. He is not capable of playing in the nfl. He will fail another drug test when the pressure builds up on him. He cant handle being a pro.
I love Ricky. I wish I had his life. Happy go lucky. Just go with the flow. People losing their jobs left and right all around him and man is still standing
Im okay with Ricky staying around. As someone already stated... what could be lost? Ricky is a talented runningback with a sketchy past. If he smokes again... then so be it. We have Ronnie, Lorenzo and Jesse. But if we keep him, we have another insurance policy. I say keep him on and dont trade him because we wont get anything for him anyway.
Good. Ricky is great at running hard into holes. During that Pittsburgh I saw the first time that a RB actually ran hard into the line instead of dancing around, true Ricky style. It is too bad that he got hurt so soon after his return. Ricky is a difference maker when he is not smoking herb and getting in trouble with the league.
Ricky in Good Standing with Parcels Dolphins reportedly will bring back Williams for '08 Don't know if this has been posted yet. But I found this on ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3179409
Awesome. I love ricky.. hes gonna be to us next year what randy moss was the pats this year, except from a running back stand point!!
I have to disagree. Failed drug tests and suspensions due to them aside; he has already shown that he has what it takes mentally to play in the NFL. He led the league in rushing one year; he has a career 4.0 ypc avg. Those aren't pedestrian accomplishments.
