Rumor has it that his brother-in-law Casey Affleck is filming a mockumentary. Phoenix's shtick is that he has quit acting to pursue rap. Basically he's trying to pull a Sascha Baron Cohen (Ali G, Borat, and Bruno for those who don't recognize the name).

I saw he was on and had heard some funny stuff about him so I watched. Glad I did, it was great. Letterman was nailing him.

I caught this last night, as I just happened to be flipping through the channels. It sure seemed like he was on outer space the whole time. Letterman did a great job of handling it.

Not sure if it's an act or not. If he's going into hip-hop I have to wonder if he's trying to be the next Matishayu or something equally strange.
