Exactly. Johnson has better acceleration, Ginn has better top-end speed. You can clearly see on tape how ridiculously fast Ginn is once he reaches top speed.

I wish they'd go ahead and race before the game and get it over with. However, Ginn's too timid, and I doubt the Phins would let him race anyway.

Ginn probably had no idea he was supposed to race Johnson.. Have you ever heard Johnson talk? Ginn probably thought Johnson was asking him on a date, instead of a race and thats why Ginn didnt show. Johnson talks like he is from some other planet. I listened to him once and didnt understand a word he was saying.

As much as I rag on Ginn, the guy appears to be a well mannered, quiet person....I would imagine it was Johnson doing all the talking and Ginn, being from up north, just sat there politely smiling and thinking to himself, "wtf is he saying".

 

These kind of challenges pop up from time to time and are stupid.

If you are the guy being challenged, what do you have to prove? You risk injury or embarrassment for no real reason other than some other guy pumping up his PR machine.

Had Ginn ran it and tweaked a hammy we'd all be freaking out on him right now.

The loudmouth guys always challenge some quiet-mannered guy (see: Garnett, Kevin) and then run their mouth when the other guy doesn't get into a pissing contest with them.) Ginn (or anyone else in this situation) wasn't going to go running to the media saying he won the race - as Johnson appears ready to do.

 

I think Johnson just talked himself into a sudden stop or two on Sunday.

They were probably joking back and forth and Ginn said he was faster so Johnson challenged him to a race right there.

Again, I hope our players have a good enough head on their shoulders to not get caught up in pissing matches. Show him on the field.

Not so fast! Bolt really starts hitting his stride at around 50 meters. In fact, in some races, he is neck and neck until about 60. Usain Bolt is such a tall guy (around 6'4") that he physically cannot put his feet down quite as quickly as the shorter runners. His stride is long and measured. I would pay to see that 50 meter race. Chris Johnson might have a point. I would not even be surprised if Bolt's 40 time were slower than Johnson's simply because of Bolt's long stride.

 

Wasn't it all a hoax from a fake Ginn and fake Bess?? That doesn't fit Ginn's personality to talk trash like this. Ginn is quite reserved.

 

Maybe Ginn had already finished the race by the time CJ got there.

 

Maybe this will light some fire under Teddy and he comes out and breaks the reception record now held by Brandon Marshall....

I can see that point but we also have a better passing game going up against a very poor secondary, so I would like to see it dry and calm.

 

Well the good thing is that Ted doesn't have to be faster than Johnson, as long as Ted is faster than the CB and Saftey covering him and maybe the kickoff coverage I don't care.

CJ is a great running back, but I'm not overly impressed with him. The 2 defenses that he has played this year he ran for less than 100 yards against the Steelers and the Colts. He did run for over 100 the 2nd game against the colts, but they were up so much that most of that came against a prevent defense just not wanting to give up the big play.

 

The story was updated with a quote from Ginn - you can tell he is annoyed but takes the high road and says none of this matter for which team will win on Sunday. Looks like he doesn't want it to be a distraction.

Sounds more like a case of a bunch of instigators at a party and Johnson feeding off of it to call Ginn out.

Again, I'd rather not have any of our players get caught up in pissing matches in the offseason. Prove it on the field. Leave the ego boosting to the Jets.
