The Dolphins are competing every game, and you can't say we didn't have a chance to win every single game we've played since Parcells and Co has taken over.
I know right after a loss its hard to realize this, but we are not a bad team.

Man, we had that game!
Our guys kept stuffing them, and we stayed in it until the end, and then it just exploded. So many dropped balls, I think the ball had PAM on it. Very, very sad to lose a game so close to New England like that. We stayed with them for the whole game. There was plenty of opportunities to take charge of this game, and our team didn't make it happen. I don't want to hear about bad ref calls or any of that crap. Man up, we lost the game. Hopefully we'll be better prepared next time. No matter what, still proud to be a Miami Dolphins fan, it'll just sting for about a week.anlgp likes this. -
big deal. who gives a **** if we compete? we competed alot in our 1-15 season.....we barely lost to the eventual SB champs by 1 touchdown. whats it mean? nothing.

We never had it but we put ourselves in position to have a chance late. It just didn't work out. Get a real passing game in the offseason and watch this team become a top team.

Fact is, we had a serious chance of winning this game. I think next year for sure, if all goes well. This team is winning the AFC EAST and going fairly deep into the playoffs. Especially if we manage to somehow get a big play, WR -
No I won't be happy with a moral bull**** victory when the actual victory was left out there by the stupid coaches.

Its a pattern guys, get used to it. -
Based on what we've seen with guys like Will Allen even, Ronnie is likely to be kept. There are remarkably few holes on the team going into the off-season as compared to last year and especially the year before that.

man, our schedule is really beating us down. i knew it would be tough, but this is ridiculous. turnovers at san diego and atlanta. new england plays a perfect game, and we have injuries. colts and saints... we're victims of a preposterous schedule. now that its softening, we better do the right thing.
and we're short of talent.
2nd and 10, game on the line, henne puts it right in hartline's hands at midfield, and he drops it. we arent good enough to beat great teams on the road. not yet. the coaches are doing a nice job with the talent they have. especially today. except for over-playing porter. we need to put wake out there way more. peezy didnt sniff a play today. he couldnt come close to beating a rook a single time today. if he's hurt, sit him. he's completely ineffective. wake actually found brady today, despite his minimal snaps.sking29 likes this. -
Anyway to be serious this team has to keep Ronnie and most of this team in place like they did this last FA. If they signed Crowder surely they will sign Ronnie and they have to know NE will be licking their chops to get hold of a young talented RB like Brown. -
I'll say this...being competitive isn't very difficult. These are NFL players, the best of the best.
Good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose.
With that said, I never thought we had this game. We did enough of a job to keep it close, but the Patriots continued to make the plays when they needed to. As I said earlier, the reason why I didn't think we would win the game isn't due to the talent level or a "talent gap", but because the time NE had to prepare for us and playing in NE, and the way our defense matches up with their offense.sking29 likes this. -
We are poised to go on a playoff run, all of the pants pissing and bed wetting over the "mighty patriots" has been show to be false.
"Gee...their Wr are so incredibly awesome, how can Miami even compete"
Man up, we are on hell of a football team, the tough stuff is behind us.
Watch out NFL, here we come, and we are not messing around with the rest of the NFL.Ricky Williams, DOLPHAN1 and sking29 like this. -

Sorry but I don't agree. Sure we stayed in the game, but we shouldn't have had that one. Let's say Ginn doesn't drop that 4th down pass, with all that room to run gets a TD. I have the utmost confidence that the Patriots would've easily passed up the middle of the field and scored on us. Pasqualoni needs to be fired, not at the end of the season, but now. This team as been abysmal in the middle of the field all season long, no change whatsoever. Throw him out of the building, literally, with force.

I'm proud as can be over Vontae Davis, as rookie, he earned his stripes today,
3 close losses to three elite teams, we are coming, and we are hungry, really hungry, we are strong baby, really strong. -
Agreed Padre. I said it in another thread that Miami has played against all the big dogs of the NFL and can beat anyone. However I still worry about lack of talent or coaching problems.
Miami does have a great chance for a run and we'll just have to see what this team actually is made of.
If nothing else I do think this team has finally found its QB of the future. If Miami keeps Ronnie and Ricky, finally gets off their butt and get a legitimate #1 WR, and use another offseason to sure up the D some more. Then all I can say looking to 2010 will be "Top 10 team in the league for sure." -
Randy Moss pretty much won this one for the Pats.
-
TB is up on GB 37-27....they had their one shot, now they are not the threat they were.
A split, now a 4 game win streak, 7-5, heading into Jags, Texans, Pats and Steelers, that is our season right there.

With that said, the rest of this post I can't agree with. Honestly, it sounds like all the NYJ fans that we made fun of for an entire week because they didn't recognize that we beat them, no matter how, and were the better team.
It's time to do the same to the Patriots. They beat us. Whether it was because of our un-doing or not, they beat us fair and square, time to give them props. -
This is actually the loss I am least upset about, after the Atlanta one. We're finally playing a team we should beat, coming out of the toughest part of our schedule. The Pats now play Indy, the Jets and the Saints in the Dome. We may only be one game out going into the next game. The Panthers game could be tough, they're scrappy. And we hung on there the whole game, and beat the spread (which was a big slap in the face to us)
Plus, all the Wild Card teams lost(Ravens, Texans). And the Giants could beat the Chargers today also. -

Here on out, we do have one more road to cross, one more bridge to take. -
Padre, agreed that we 'should' be 7-5 at the end of this month ... looking at the PATS, HOU and PIT for a chance at the playoffs ...
unless we find an answer at LB, though, we will have no chance in the playoffs ...
Roth being back is going to help - but we have nothing for the inside or for a pass rush ... so a lack of pressure and covering TEs and the middle will remain our bane all season ... Bell on TEs isn't even a bandaid ... its a concession of yardage.
still not sure we missed anything today with Crowder out ... Fergie being hurt, along with Soliai getting dinged showed itself ... -
We drop too many passes. It's our main weakness, more than our secondary. Secondary is improving every game. We NEED a WR and I really hope this team goes after one in the Free Agency during the offseason. WR is tough to draft, there's no reason we shouldn't get one. Boldin and Arizona are even more on the outs(they should just release him, and we should pick him up! I can dream...)
And Joey Porter had 0 tackles, Cameron Wake needs to go in. I hope this was a slap in the face to Porter. shutup until you do something to help us win.
Today was also the toughest game remaining on our schedule. Next toughest is against the Pats[again], but its in our house and they wont have the bye week. -
Like several people have already mentions, we're in year 2 of the new FO, and we're headed in the right direction. We are a few players from really being a great team.
All this crying and complaining doesn't change anything. We are what we are, a 3-5 team that competes and is close in every game.
I still like our team, I understand we can't make a deep playoff/superbowl team in 2 years. -
-
We are deep, we are good, however we are not perfect, we do have a bit of the Shula "find a way to win" but by game 12 or so, we will be beasts, seriously.
Was I the only one to notice that Captain Cautious Sparano was made to look bad by Swashbuckling Sparano today?
Tony Sparano simply must trust his aggressive instincts more, his team is waiting for him to do so.
To win out this year, (but not long term) Sparano must find that tiger that aggressive attack attack attack personna, he must stop hesitating, absolutely must stop hesitating. -
