Another example of a former dolphin player that performs like a different person in another team.

diff. system, diff. team man. Same player less pressure on him. He is supposed to do better. If you cant be a better play around Gates, LT, etc. somethings not right with your game.

Yup... and even so, still no 100+ yard game and this is his 3rd TD of the season? I dont see any change... still the #2 type receiver he was here IMO

Chambers is excelling in a system that he's played in before under Norv Turner. The fact is, Chambers keeps the pressure off LT and Gates as well, it's not just a one way street. The Chargers have to spread the ball around a lot to give them all numbers, but even so they still manage to get the Ws. I know he's not the only reason, but ever since Chambers came to SD, those Chargers are looking a lot better as far as offense goes. Ask any Charger fan, they'll tell ya that Chambers is for real. Being in a crappy system with mediocre QBs has held him back for a long time, next year we'll see how he can really play with a year under his belt with Rivers and the San Diego Chargers.

Chambers to the Chargers is a huge trade that will really show it's value in the post season.

the reason he plays so good is because they stay with One QB and Don't switch ever time someone plays bad

Same system. He and Cam both use Air Coryell. But theres also another big difference: they have good players, we dont.

I wouldn't say he's lighting it up, but he's certainly excelling in his role. The Charger players say he draws a lot of coverage.

He's on a better team now. Good for him.

I think thats one of the things thats hard to quantify about a player. For all his knocks here I do think he made others on this team better simply because he dictated coverage. I dont think its a coincidence that our offense went down the drain around when he was traded. Not the only factor by any means but a major one.

Still a good trade long term though if Ginn develops and we draft well with the pick.

The amount of credit being given to Chambers is hilarious. Look I dont dislike Chambers though i think his time in Miami was due and hes a good solid player but hes no Randy Moss or Torry Holt. The Chargers overpaid for him because they had jack-poop on the outside and Gates was getting a consistant double and triple team because there was no other vertical or mid range threat that opened things up for Gates and LT. Whether it was Chambers or someone else they just needed someone with downfield speed on the outside. I wish Chambers the best and he showed class with his comments the other day...

Now, whats really funny about the SD situation is how they all of a sudden needed Chambers without Cameron and Schottenheimer there which I think is an indictment of how mediocore a coach Norv Turner is. Schottenheimer won 14 games with eric parker and Malcolm Floyd/Vincent Jackson as his starting wr's. Thats a bloody good job.

While I think they might be giving him too much credit, I don't think you're giving him enough. I live in SD so I watch Charger games essentially every week (kinda have to, but also I want to watch since I really like Chambers). SD really is a run first offense, duh, but with Norv and LT how can you not? Chambers absolutely opens things up for them, and his numbers aren't super spectacular but that is due to several things. One, Gates is Rivers release valve. He didn't get comfortable with Chambers until the end of the season. And if you watched the games, you noticed he started to look for Chambers when he was looking for a big catch or was running for his life. The final drive in regulation in the Ten game is one example.

Two, Rivers absolutely misses Chambers all the time. ALL THE TIME. My biggest Charger homers (they still defend Rivers accuracy!) who go to the games complain about him missing Chambers consistently. They are not yet spoiled by Chambers making specacular grabs saving his QB's butt. And surprisingly he hasn't dropped that many since coming to SD. Last year he was credited for 8, one every other game, this year he is not on the leaderboard:
    http://sports.iwon.com/nfl/stats/league/passesdropped.html
Look who is up there, Marty Sure-Hands Booker. Could it be the humidity?

Third, nobody expects him to get 10 TDs anymore. There just isn't enough balls to go around with LT and Gates. They are all pros. But this goes to show Chambers can excel with decent players around him, and he was our best receiver, something a lot of people denied.

    Lets Go Chambers!

Idk about you guys, but Im supporting our boy by wearing his jersey! #84 of course. Im wishing Chambers the best of luck in the playoffs, espically since this is his 1st game, but idk about you guys but I would love to see Chris win it all. Hes a class act and showed it while he was here and after he got traded. LETS GO CHARGERS! And Chris of course!

He was having a good season, just couldn't get into the endzone. Our offense as a whole couldn't get into the end zone though so it's hard to just blame him. I think he'll do much better in San Diego anyways.

is it me or does it feel like the dolphins and chargers are very close? We get lemon from them, we get welker after being cut by the chargers. We get cam, we give them chambers.

Chargers seem to have a playoff curse. Good news for us though, a Chargers loss gives us a higher draft pick. :)

I still would rather have CC than the Chargers 2nd round pick. If we are LUCKY we will get a starter next season from the pick. But even then I am not sure he will be as good as CC is a WR.

Beck or whoever we have could use a WR like CC....right now we have ZERO like him.

But that is also not saying much...

Hadnot might leave for more $$$. We need to upgrade LG & RG if that happens. Let's not forget RT.

The question is if we do get a starter on the OL...will he be a TOP 20 OLINEMAN within 3 or 4 seasons?

Time will tell...I just think we should have kept Chambers. It would have helped our QB & Running game. Think what it could do for Ginn deep. I hate that Bill waited so long to get in. I wish he would have came in earlier and stopped the trade. The Chargers are a MUCH better team now they have a TRUE WR on the field.

We have a hopeful (Ginn) and a chance of a pick. Top 5 picks are not locks...by no means are 2nd rounders. DAMN GIVE BACK CHAMBERS!!! lol
