I think this is good news for us. Moving this game to SNF would have brought more hype to it... Hence more pressure for our young team. I think we'll be fine either way, but at least its a 1pm game, just like every other. Woudlnt want to mess up a good routine

 

That bites, now I have to wait and see if I can even watch it on TV.

 

The Jets and Giants NEVER play at the same time. The New York networks have it in their contracts. They`re both very high profitable markets. It dont happen.

The Jets losing was bad for the Dolphins. It makes them a wounded animal and much more dangerous than a team with pressure on them. We've seen that since the Jets beat the Titans they couldn't handle the expectations it brought upon them.

The NFL did the wise thing here. There is nothing worse than the final regular season game being meaningless for 1 or more teams. Which is why they don't have a final Monday nighter. Den Vs. SD is the only game that is guaranteed to matter to both teams after the other 15 games have been played.

Hopefully they move the Giants game to 4:00. I don't want to play Bret Favre in his "final" game with nothing to lose if the Jets are already out of playoff contention if the Patriots and Ravens win.

Now I know that alot of you are happy that NBC decided against flexing our game because of the potential of our young team folding under all the pressure and added media attention of being the primetime sunday night last game of the year on national television. But I have to disagree. We have played so hard all year and I really wanted this game to be the night game with Chad having the chance to deliver the AFC East Title to Miami. It would have been really sweet to watch that. And it would have been even sweeter getting all that extra attention. Now all the entire media is going to be talking about is the Chargers and Broncos and all the hoopla in their first game with the Hoculi call. All were gonna be reading about and wathing about is the Bolts and Donkeys, and like always we will be rarely mentioned. I dont know it just bothers me a little. Does anyone agree with me?

 

The New York market is just too valuable, so they never play at the same time. The NFL schedules a lot of games for 1:00 in week 17 with the intent of moving a few to 4:00 for the most intriguing playoff scenario matchups. They always intended to move either the Giants or Jets from 1:00.

 

Wait you would rather play a team fighting for the playoffs at 1:00pm than a team deflated knowing they are eliminated at 4:00? At the worst with the 4:00pm start is if NE loses the NYJ will be playing like they would have been at 1:00pm.

I'll take the team that are going to be beating themselves up for letting the season slip away and I don't think Mangini would necessarily want to hand another AFC East title to Belichick.

 

Yeah, I'm not too sad about this, and it makes sense, denver vs san diego its winner hits the playoffs, loser goes home... That's gonna get more attention than our game where if the jets win most likely nothing will happen and both teams are headed home

 

I think it depends on the situation and how each of those teams have been playing.

The Chiefs were dangerous today because if they had scored a touchdown late, Herm Edwards would likely have gone for 2 instead of forcing overtime. I'd rather play a team with a more conservative and scared approach.

Seeing how poorly the Jets have played with destiny in their own hands the past 4 weeks, I'd much rather play them when they have something on the line. You think they'd come in deflated, I'd bet they'd come in relieved that the pressure was off and they could just play the spoiler.

 

I agree 100%. I think it is to our advantage to play a jets team that has been eliminated from the playoffs.

 

You'd rather face Brett Favre when he can just go out and throw it around without concern for winning or losing? I wouldn't. The Jets have lost 3 of their last 4, getting a gift against Buffalo for their only win. They went out to Seattle with the playoffs on the line and laid an egg. Eliminating playoff pressure may be just what they need to get them playing like they did against Tennessee. They seem to relish being the underdog, but can't handle the pressure of being on top.
