http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/pos...ony?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter I agree 100% with Merril. Tebow did this to himself. If he wanted to start at QB this year then you go to Jacksonville in the beginning. You know Sanchez was the starter for the Jets and you would get little playing time regardless of what you are told. He did it for the money and the NY media. Also Jacksonville will be stupid to have him as their QB. He sets any franchise back, except the team that drafted him because they were lucky Peyton fell in their laps. He is not a starting QB in the league. Never will be, and teams that get Tebow can thank the Dolphins for that, because if Miami won that game they they should have, he would not be in the league . Because he played poorly that game, and the very next week got destroyed by the Lions. He probably would have been bench the following week
Jest are going to stick with Nacho no matter what, imo Tebow probably deserved a shot over McElroy. He did lead the Broncos the playoffs his first yr as a starter, he did win a playoff game as well. And yet the NFL, being the scared place it is, won't play him.
Tim didn't go to Jacksonville because he and his family were worried about the amount of pressure he would face there. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Silliness. Tebow is one of the most real people in the NFL. He's not going to pan out as a QB, sure; that doesn't make him a phony person. ESPN really needs to stop stirring the Tebow pot.
So much this. And you have to change the entire offense because hes not a traditional QB. Hes going to want to run that triple option BS. Not a Tebow fan but I agree. He comes off as pretty genuine, more so then many other players in other sports or on other teams
Because he has a hard on for Tebow? Hoge is harder on Tebow than he is with 90% of the criminals who play in this league, it makes no sense, for Hoge it is personal and when it does you have to ask yourself why. Here was him attacking Tebow last March after Tebow got chased out of Denver by Elway: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...icks-tim-tebow-while-hes-down-he-has-no-clue/ Hoge is a douchebag.
No basically about it. The question is why? Why bring the Tebow circus to town if you're not going to use it to your advantage on the field?
So we learn Tebow can't Handle pressure and his family is clueless if they think there is more pressure in Jacksonville then New York...that's a weak excuse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No doubt but my point was just because you make it to the playoffs does not necessarily mean you have a good QB.
I think he's a great kid, the type of kid I hope my daughter meets and marries eventually, but he's a piss poor QB.
Hodge must hate the fact that Tebow is the most talked about back up QB of all time. He is just not a good nfl player. Watch his games. He's not even good enough to start for the jets. Jags get him, there franchise is set back. He's never going to win a Super Bowl as a starting qb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For sure. I don't know what it is but he just knows what to do when the game is on the line, the kids a winner.
Hoge should know about players who never live up to expectations. For a former player he makes a decent talking head although he sounds a little bitter about Tebow.
^ I don't think he sounds bitter. Passionate maybe. He has a strong opinion on the matter obviously. He's saying what most are thinking but are too afraid to say imo.
It's one thing to think Tebow isn't a good QB, another to outright dislike the guy. Hoge seems butt-hurt for some reason. You could tell he's waited a long time to call him phony.
Here's how Hoge really feels....
Tim Tebow is going to come up here and dominate the CFL in 2014. The Montreal Alouettes own his rights, but I think the Ottawa expansion team will draft in the expansion draft an he will be the Ottawa starting QB in 2014. Smartest thing a CFL team could do is offering him the starter job, IMO.
I think they make a run at BC's Reily. as for playing in the CFL, perhaps, there are several teams whose Qb's are getting up their in age (Sask, Montreal. Wpg is a wreck) BUT I also think he can win in the NFL if given a chance. BUT these guys make so much $$$ nowadays literally they can also retire from their rookie contracts, unlike the old days where they had a sense of "have football, will travel wherever they will pay me", and the NFL has the "D" league coming up. I see a lot of Joe Kapp in Tebow's game, and think coaches just want "pretty" rather than "winning" today.
I suspect Tebow wants to play Qb after so many have told him he cannot play Qb. Does seem obvious to me though, Hoge goes Skip Bayless whenever Tebow's name is mentioned.
I'll be honest....I don't like Tebow as a person because I believe people who act like he does are empty shells of what a person can be.
