Merriman, imo, needs to rest his body for the remainder of the season and try to sign somewhere over the offseason.
Players who do roids are succeptible to injuries .Remember David Boston .He had multiple lower leg problems that ultimately shortened his career .
Boston kept on breaking his legs, Merriman seems like, in my utterly unmedical opinion, he has blood circulation issues in his calf, I wonder if his knee operation was not as successful as it could have been?
Not that I give a damn but who says he injures himself in the nice 80 degree weather down in FL rather than the sub-arctic ****hole he's in now?
He is down to being available for 7 games now. Bills should waive him and sign Charlie Anderson so they at least can get some production out of OLB this season.
Needling Bills fans aside, what I have noticed from watching Merriman highlight videos is his explosion really wasn't what made him any good, it was his physicality. He had a sort of speed/bullrush going when he was working well..hmm.
"Hi, I'm Cameron Wake, and I'm about to teach you how to annihilate everything in your path on your way to annihilating the QB... Step one, be Cameron Wake..."
Wake is a bit more like DWare. I think Ireland went after Merriman as they saw him more as a bullrusher than speed rusher, so even if he lost a step he still could be effective.
Eh, don't know about "his career is on it's last legs" as Merriman is still a young player, and more than anything it sounds like he just requires time to heal and maybe a rethink to his offseason conditioning program. Sounds crazy especially with Dolphins Strength and Conditioning Staff's love of power lifting, but Merriman may be better served with a Ricky Williams type approach of more stretching and building leaner muscle mass.
Hmm, I'm beginning to question Buddy Nix's competence, basically they paid Merriman over a million dollars for 1 practice, then IR'd him. Meanwhile Alex Carrington is nowhere to be seen, he needs snaps and instead he is hanging out with Aaron Maybin on "not much" production list.
