Worth a shot given the situation for them. He gets back to the old Merriman and he'll get a nice extension and be the face of the defense. He doesn't turn it around and they let him walk at years end.

You'd assume so but if not, say 50 guys got waived. It wouldn't be 'fair' to have the same team claim all of them.

 

Tried to look it up and the only thing I found is that the wire is reset once a week based on record.

Imagine the Bills claiming both of them.

 

they can claim both players, so long as they're willing to pay them and have roster spots.

Merriman going from san diego to buffalo new york is pretty much paradise to hell in terms of weather, people, beauty, location, everything........

 

I'm surprised Ralph Wilson want's to pay the price. He's been known to be very tight with his cash. That's why they're where they are as a franchise. They let all the goods one go.

Even if they could, I don't think they will. There's little to no reason for Buffalo to claim Moss. Merriman, if they could keep him, is still young and a bit less of a headache.

 

merriman will be pissed, but its kind of a half season tryout for other teams, he does good in buffalo, becomes a UFA and gets a good contract to wherever he chooses.

Updating previous reports, the Buffalo Bills have claimed free-agent LB Shawne Merriman (Chargers) off waivers, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Merriman will have to report to the Bills within the next five days and is expected to report at this time. He is not expected to play in Week 9.
