An Ohio St insider. Very close with the program. Sure call bias but he is pretty damn reliable.

Meyer is an excellent coach. If he can avoid/deal with the health issues then OSU is very fortunate.

If he can avoid all the other issues that he ran into at UF, the health issues won't be as big of a factor.

If true, this is a good move for OSU simply because Meyer believes in it, always had the feeling that Tressel was just sort of going along with a wide open style of offense, he did not buy into it.

Ohio State needs a total makeover schematically on defense. We need to attack not sit back and give wrs 10yd cushions. Curious who Urban wants to run his defense.

I hear Fickell will be retained as Ast coach/D Coord. Defense isn't an area of weakness. Front 7 looks stellar with Hankerson, Simon, Williams, Klein, Sweat, and now Shazier! Secondary could use more work but overall its good. I'm just happy Ohio St will be getting a competent offensive playcalling.

I dislike the Buckeye defensive philosophy....its built to beat average teams. If you want to beat top programs you have to attack! Unless you get the rare DL that can create mega pressure. Sitting back and waiting on defense wont beat the LSU's and USC's very often. IMO a change is needed.

The Buckeyes always get great athletes but never were able to exploit the athletes full talents .Meyers offense puts the ball in the hands of the best athletes more often .

However the Big 10 is still going to have trouble beating the top SEC teams who have so many good athletes on defense that the spread offense becomes ineffective.

Actually your right but only a couple teams in the big ten run the spread. But your right about the athletes. Infact OSU just yesterday lost an in state top WR to Oregon.....and this kid is super fast. Shouldve been wearing scarlet n grey. Those type of kids will be more likely to come here now imo.

Read on Sports by Brooks yesterday that he also confirmed it with former Buckeye players.

No better coach to bridge that gap with the SEC than Meyer.

If that idiot said it, you can guarantee Urban doesn't have a deal with Ohio State yet.

My guess is that they'll continue denying everything until at least after the Michigan game.

I'm not an OSU fan, but if Meyer does end up there, then I expect them to be in the national championship hunt again very soon.

Yeah but we also got Aldolphus Washington one of the top defensive prospects so I'd say a fair trade off.

Well they had always said they were BOTH going to attend OSU...but Stanford opted for an "open offense" well....Urban brings just that to the team. Maybe he will end up stiffing the Ducks once the Meyer hire is official.

Top prospects are a never a sure thing unless they grew up Buckeye fans and its been their dream. It could be true that some top prospects favor Ohio St once Meyer is hired. We'll see though. I hope Bri'onte Dunn doesn't pick Michigan.

Now Ohio State will be flooded with 5'5 160 lb guys who run 4.1's.

Im excited about the TE prospects we may now attract. Defensive philosophy still sucks but now our offense will be wide open and Braxton Miller is going to have a great chance at a heisman trophy before his time here is finished.

Urban is a winner but its going to be a lot different in terms of recruiting. I firmly believe the LSU Oline coach will be our OC. The only concern I have is what kind of runningbacks we will have.

I think Urban will attract alot of the same type of players he was able to get at Florida. We are strong at RB with Hall and Hyde for now, I perfer that type of RB over a "Rainey type". Either way Braxton and Meyer are a great fit for eachother and it will be Urbans offense no matter what OC is brought in so I still stand behind my desire for a bigger upgrrade at DC. Fickle is rumoured to be offered that position but im sorry I hope that isnt true. Guess we will see.

I am hearing that Urban is looking at none other than Clemson's own Chad Morris as the OC. And Fickle is staying on board.

The thing with Urban is, he's never really been proven as a recruiter. He took over a Utah team that was already talented thanks to Ron McBride. He then went to a very talented Florida team thanks to Ron Zook. He didn't leave Florida with very good recruiting classes.
