Miami at San Diego Tailgate

I think I am going to this game. Will probably bring the girl along as well as she loves Sandy Eggo.

Just gotta get some tickets.

 

Boy are they pricey right now

 

Last year when I went to the Cal Poly game down at the Murph, I was sitting in row 17 behind the visitors bench. It was a good view, but if you get down below row 7 there will be viewing problems. Also it is a major pain to get to the lower deck. Ground level is actually at the top of deck #2. To get to the lower deck you have to go down 4 flights of stairs, then up another half flight to get to the top row of the lower deck.

 

Usually when I come down to San Diego, I usually come down by the train, and usually stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside at the Embarcardero. It is pretty close to the train station, and the trolley. The trolley will get you to the Murph, and the trolley makes a stop pretty close to Seau's.
Also that Holiday Inn is across the street from Anothony;s Grotto, which is probably my favorite seafood restaurant in the world.

 

My firend and I are considering renting a Motorhome to come down.

Anyone know if Qualcomm would allow us:

a) to park there (or somewhere) Sat night
b) does Qualcomm allow tailgating??? There's no point getting a motorhome if they don't.

 

My friend and his group have season tickets. Wife of one of the buddies is preggo, so I have a ticket bar none (I'm the only Miami fan around, so it's reserved for me).

Thing is, my breadwinner, ma lady, would also want to go so I am trying to buy at least two tickets for us. But no matter what, I'm coming! Woohoo!

congrats on the job front too FFIC, I didn't even know until right now. That's just as good news as the Fins coming back to my home town so i can see them whoop the chargers again.

Been a few years since we knocked them out of the playoffs with Chambers tearing them up for two TDs.

EDIT: Should do a mass phin visit to Seau's the night before haha. Might be fun (and hopefully not rowdy)

I've been looking into RV rentals and they all want a three night minimum, so not sure I'll go that way. Wondering weather to go bush-league and get a U-haul with a couch and livingroom set in the back for tailgating instead.

Doesn;t solve the sleeping problem though, unless my buddies and I sleep in the back of the u-haul. lol. I'd be too afraid I'd suffocate if I closed the door.

Guess it's time to actually look into hotels.

 

Where do they stay now? Did you confirm that they use the Hyatt Regency?

 

They used to stay for years at the Marriot, but I'm still not sure where they stayed last time they were down. I stayed with my son at the Marriot and we were told they switched to a newer hotel. I think I remember it being the Hyatt. I do remember that they told me it was northeast of the Marriot (on the other side of the stadium from the Marriott). Anyhow - so far I still do not know for sure where the Fins will be staying.

My tentative plans are to fly out to Miami for the Bills & Jets games the following two weeks so I don't know if I'll be able to convince the wife to let me hit this one as well. But since I'm in Nor Cal and one of my best friends lives down in Vista I should be able to make a decent argument :-)

Looks like well be arriving Saturday evening after my son's game is over. He plays Saturday's around 2-4 pm so we'll head right over from where ever we are playing and do dinner at Seau's. ETA - 6-7 pm

Can't confirm for sure yet, but we are very close to buying a vacation house in SoCal. If we aquire it before september, i'll be making my first trip down coincidentially the same time as the phins/chargers game haha.

I'll know more in mid august, but if we buy a place down there, i'll be about 1 1/2 hrs from SD, so i will join the bretheren from the phins for some tailgaiting and hopefully a ticket for the game.

 

I called a group that does NFL travel packages and they said the hotel contracts havent been settled yet. They will call me as soon as it's finalized and I'll be buying my tickets and hotel package through them, unless of course I can get a better deal.

 

Anyone know the date Charger tickets go on sale so I can get my tickets for this game? I want to say its in June or July but im not sure.

 

that's my birthday! it's a sign...

but anyway, I received a conditional job offer (WOOT) on friday pending a physical (tomorrow) and psych evaluation (later this week) to become a Police Dispatcher at UCLA. If all goes well they want me to start june 15th, which means i'll have about a month to save up some monies so I can get me some tickets to the game!

These tix are gonna be #1 priority (even before things like.. you know.. rent )
