With the franchise QB on the verge of being injured they just don't have the luxury of waiting even a week. When Ross reportedly met with Ireland and Philbin I wouldn't be surprised if it was to ask them why they're getting his franchise QB murdered.

Losing Jake Long was a huge step backward, and Tannehill has been suffering those consequences. Martin is sketchy and Clabo is just plain awful, as we all know. McKinnie- we'll see what happens, I guess Martin goes to the right side.
This thread can probably go into the other one.MrClean likes this. -
Something has to be done. Clabo is struggling because of injury, or he's a poor fit in the system, or whatever. At this point, the problem has reached critical mass. He obviously needs to be replaced. McKinnie certainly is not a final answer to the problem... in fact, I think he's a sizeable risk that could emerge as a bigger problem next season... but I do feel he's an improvement.
So, here we go again. Weeeeee! -

So a fat Bryant McKinnie, with a bad knee that has to be drained frequently, is put into the lineup while our sketchy LT Martin goes to RT and the current OL disaster dujour, RT Tyson Clabo, goes to the bench. That is just pathetic.
Part of me would rather see Danny Watkins and and Dallas Thomas take over on the right side. That being said, my best guess is that Martin, Thomas and Watkins are not long term solutions. Add John Jerry to that list and what you have is a overhaul on the OL with the exception of Pouncey and maybe Incognito.
The Colts signed Xavier Nixon off the Redskins PS- that sounds like a better move to me than picking up a retread like mcKinnie with a busted wheel. -

But this move isn't about Martin doing poorly as much as Clabo simply sucking, period... Thing is all Mt. McKinney has ever played is LT... -

He cant possibly be any worse.

Regardless of how Jonathan Martin plays, it looks like letting Jake Long walk was a good decision based on his play with the Rams. He's been better than last year, but not worth the contract.

Those are all obviously nothing more than guesses. But the fact is that Jake Long is gone, and what we have now is a load of crap at OT. -

now we'll focus on Martin....the last game he was awful too.... let's hope for the best, but I am not so optmistic, honestly (but I am quite a pessimistic guy in real life too )

He has yet to draft a superstar player, or obtain a consistent Pro Bowl Player. 6 freakin years and he can't do it, its not bad luck when its that many years in a row, that is just incompetence. -
Well the Patriots defense has a bunch of injuries so I don't expect much pressure from them, but I can still see some false starts and other struggles.
-
-
Well I see this as a game where the offensive plays well and gives Tannehill time BUT....the defense can't stop Brady and he kills us.
-
Was hoping to show some faith in Garner on the right side.
Nothing to lose, really. -
"Clabo heads to the bench."

I have no problem that we let Jake go it's that we didn't replace him with anybody. Martin was not a surefire replacement ,we took Jordan in the draft and he barely gets on the field. is what it is the new GM will address the tackles

Long may be overpaid, but I'd rather have his overpaid *** here protecting our QB instead of the horrendous situation we find ourselves in now. We are now planning on starting a 360lb cast-off with a bum knee, I'm not sure it can get any worse than this.ASOT likes this. -

Yet Atlanta cuts him to save $4.5 million. We sign him for $3.5m. Doesn't that sound fishy? Why was there no competition for him?
Looks like everyone including Jeff Ireland knew he wasn't worth much. It was only fans who we're expecting more.
