It bears noting that 7/8 of the Dolphins draft picks this year were team captains in college.

They may not become team leaders in their rookie year, but sooner or later some of them they will be.

    Joey Porter...leader...3 seasons..19-29

Jason Taylor...leader..last two seasons with Phins...8-24

Small wonder the "help wanted" sign is up over the leadership department.

Player leadership doesn't necessarily equate wins, so I wouldn't put that at the doorstep of Taylor, Porter or Zach Thomas for that matter. It's not easy to undo and overcome the damage of the Wannestedt/Saban/Cameron years. The team leaders didn't pass on Brees twice, trade for Culpepper, draft Eddie Moore, etc. They can only do so much. Huizenga screwed up, and he knows it. I feel bad for him, he spent the money and deserved better, but couldn't hire the right head coaches to save his life. Dumbstedt and Cameron were tremendously poor hires and Saban was so-so but also just a jerk. After Wannesdedt screwed up Chicago Ii'm amazed to this day that he was hired down here. Chalk it up to Jimmy Johnson whispering in Huizenga's ear. Cameron was a joke of a head coach- not respected by the team and came accross as a weenie.
