He's the guy I'd want most. I have him at 2a in my mock. Do you guys there's any chance he could fall that far? I like D. Butler, but I do not think there's a chance that he will sniff the 2nd. rd.I like him as another possible option at 2a. Hopefully.•

i liked Butler a lot ... and initially he was my preferred CB (being a UCONN alum), but after further review, he is a little light according to the Parcell's blueprint ... and not sure he makes up for it with his playmaking.

didnt byrd run like a 4.7 at his pro day?
btw, FF he said he was light, not small. i think hes like 5'11 180 pounds...... -
I don't think we go CB or WR at #25.
I think we take DL or LB. It's a Parcells trait to improve the the lines, and I don't see us making a move on the OL after getting Berger, Grove and Carey in FA.
Connor Barwin, Larry English, Robert Ayers, or someone along those lines.
And if Knowshon Moreno drops, something tells me sweep him up. -
I don't like smith. Poor tackler imo. I don't see how we could pass on vontae davis if he was available

I think its more likely that Miami improves its pass rush than finds a 2nd CB opposite Will Allen. Whichever pass rusher that will be available @ 25 will be a better value (Vs) whichever CB that will be available. I do believe the team will draft two CB's this year, given their decision to play Cover-4 more often next season.

as Boomer has shown, he prefers 5'10-5'11 and ~ 195 ... so that is why Butler is a little light, but the 'right' height ...

you are correct, from all that has been said and written, i believe that he goes with his 'blueprint' until someone blows him away that is on the outside. to confirm this, just look at our roster right now ... you won't find too many exceptions to his 'blueprint'. his tipping point usually seems to be with bigger vice smaller.
did Butler blow him away ... don't know that. i certainly won't mind the pick, i'm just pointing out what i see in his pattern of picks and players. -

From Scout.com
Darius Butler, Connecticut 5-10, 183
Pre-Combine Position Rank: 6
Post-Combine Skinny: Many thought he'd come to the Combine and up his stock big time with a blazing 40 and tremendous athleticism. It didn't happen. His 4.45 was fine, but there were rumblings that he was going to tear off a 4.3. The 43" vertical leap was amazing and the 11'2" broad jump was special, but he wasn't as smooth as expected when he ran.
Positives: Did a little of everything well … Fast. Can’t be beaten deep without a heck of a move … Great hands. Saw some time at receiver.
Negatives: Not physical. Will try to hit, but can’t do it … Needs to be on a speed receiver; not a big, strong one … Only a corner who’ll struggle to get the jam.
Jairus Byrd, Oregon 5-11, 207
Pre-Combine Position Rank: 9
Post-Combine Skinny: He measured in big and strong-looking, but he wasn't able to work out and run. If he can run a 4.5 in private workouts, he'll make himself a ton of dough.
Positives: Big-time producer … Solid tackler. Not a prima donna in any way … Nice, fluid athlete with good size.
Negatives: Elite speed is lacking … Even with his size, he’s not tough enough to play safety … Can get sloppy in his technique.
