For three of the Dolphins' most important players, it at least seems like some tangible proof of maturity. Now, it's time to prove it on the field.
At 2 p.m. Friday, when training camp commences with its first practice, Brown, Henne and Marshall will be at the center of attention looking to prove they are ready to take the next step in their career -- just as they've taken that other step in their lives.
``I want to be the leading rusher in the NFL,'' Brown said recently. ``The milestone for a running back is 1,000 yards. But I would like to go well beyond that.''
Marshall made a similar declaration shortly after being rewarded a $50 million contract to play for the Dolphins.
``My goal is to be No. 1,'' Marshall said. ``Am I that now? No. But with work and dedication I'll get there. Hopefully it will be this year. I want to be the best receiver to play this game.''
