THE ANSWER IS NO , BECAUSE WE WERE NOT IN THE PLAYOFFS AND QB Moore is not a playoff caliber qb

Dalton also had AJ Green, Ced Benson, and Gresham, first rd picks all, on offense.

I think a Qb like Nick Foles could be Andy Dalton, which means basically Chad Henne with a touch more guts, same offense though.

How is that any sense of the word logical?

Interestingly enough, the 05 Cowboys were in a similar position as the 2012 Dolphins heading into the draft, they had Drew Bledsoe, but choose not to upgrade that position and instead went for D Ware at...#10 overall.

And where would they be if not for diamond in the rough UDFA Tony Romo?

Come on, man. Are you really expecting logic here?

Especially in a thread about how we might "shun the QB option in the 1st round." lol

We'll never know, they did have the vision to stick with that little thought of Qb.

    19 td to 13 int's, started 10 gms.

Yeah, and if Ireland keeps sticking to that outdated "vision" Dolphins will go nowhere fast.

Do you have a good reason they shouldn't be?

Depends, do agree we cannot be mediocre at everything but stopping the run, which is like making the best wagon wheels, it's nice, but useless.

We at least, at a bare minimum, have to run the ball more effectively, that sets everything else up.

    You mean a rookie struggled?

He's done well for a rookie, but we all know that one season means very little.

Unless of course you're Matt Flynn or Matt Moore and then your history has already been written forever.

Well, it was how he struggled DDupree, they took away the running game and he looked lost vs the Texans

This is the problem with building a system to fit the Qb with limited demands on them, it proposes things that won't always be there for them

When they are taken away, your young Qb will struggle and flounder as they are being asked to do things they haven't done before.

That is something I expect for almost every rookie quarterback.

My question would be, "Does he have the ability to improve?"

    :dunno:

He looked an awful lot like Chad Henne with a bit of courage to me, do think just playing will make him better but don't think his ceiling is all that high tbh.

Some players do, some do not. That is the problem. Henne looked good when he first started and if he improved we would have a quarterback. He did not improve by enough.

Brady looked decent at best when he first started, then he improved by leaps and bounds.

We have a very limited body of work to judge Flynn by -but if we had Philbin (worried that his head may not be right after losing his son) and he ran the same basic offensive system that Green Bay has? You would be maximizing the odds that Flynn would succeed. We could further increase those odds by getting the best WR at #8/9 and then use our second and a later pick to move back into the late first round for the best remaining OT.

Flynn would have the system he knows so well, lots of weapons on offense, and a better OL. We also keep Moore and worst case scenario we can start him again if Flynn gets hurt or struggles badly.

I really don't have an issue with burning some cap space to get Flynn either. He won't command the same money as Kolb got, and you can bet the Cards made sure they can cut him early in the contract without to much of a cap hit.

Sweet, this has worked out so well for us since the late 90's, keep up the good work and doing the same thing if true.

    IE, Chad Henne

Interestingly the Bengals are in the mkt for Wr's.

Keep in mind the bengals were what...8-8?

Which is about what Henne was doing in 09.
