These are quotes and comments from Brown that I thought was good to point out. I admit that doing it this way is pretty much giving away the entire article. But here it is anyway. I believe you will find this be valuable.

I think we're going to see Ronnie be a complete BEAST this year. Sounds like he should be quite motivated to prove alot of people wrong this year. That, is great for us, and bad for opposing defenses.

Ronnie is an excellent tandem back
& will do well in conjunction
    w/Willliams & Polite.
we have an elite running stable
    running behind the Orca-5,
they may be the best in the NFL

    we will contend in 2010

    I said it before:

Healthy year + Contract year=MVP year
    for Ronnie.

Glad we didn't trade him for some meaningless 3-5th round pick.

Ronnie Brown is capable of well over 2,000 total yards. I also think he's capable of over 1500 yards rushing. 2007 made me a believer. If this guy could get a full season this year with an improved passing game, I can see him with 1,300 yards and 13 TD's. I WANT him to stay healthy because I believe he is top 5 RB material.

I will believe it when I see it. I like Ronnie Brown, but anyone who has missed a quarter of his career due to injuries is, in fact, injury prone. Miami is doing right to wait and see what they have in him this seaosn before making a decision on signing him back long term.

Of course if he goes out and tears up the league, he will command much more than he does now, but its a risk Miami has to take. He can no longer be paid on potential. He has to prove that he is worth it.

You're making me tear up...bringing me back to last year when he was a Top-5 rusher and I was estatic, couldn't get enough of Ronnie Brown. And then then the injury...

yes, he's capable of that. He's also capable of another 800 yard season due to injuries. I love how he claims he's not injury prone because that injury came on tackling after an INT. What difference does it make? he was injured, and likely the after effects of that injury now make him even more injury prone.

I hope he has a monster year, he's one of my favorites. But as a dolphin fan, I'd rather see a trifecta of Brown, Williams and Cobbs (or Sheets) get 2000 yds rushing as a committee and keep Brown fresh for the playoffs and non-injured. I think the regime is smart and feels the same way.

Honestly it is put up or shut up time with Brown, stay healthy and beast it out, anything less is unacceptable to me, and him it sounds.

Also sounds like Miami is lukewarm on signing long term, I dont blame them, if you have an elite OL, most avg-to above avg RB's can run through it....Miami doesnt need a gamebreaker at this position....taking up a large salary...Running back is one of the more easy positions to find, dime a dozen.

Well, I think RB is going to be a beast because of one thing and one thing alone...if he doesn't he won't be here anyway next season. 29 yr old running backs with a long history of injuries don't get big buck contracts. You're right, he's a beast when healthy....but he's got to stay healthy...something that he has proven to be difficult...

I agree, but that doesn't necessarily bode well for him to get any kind of a big dollar contract next off season, at least not from us. They do what they have to maximize his effects on this team, this year....they don't think about next season or the season after that...

Also, if he tears up the league next season, you franchise tag him, run him until he breaks down and then let him go.

I'd rephrase it: the running stable is elite when healthy. Last year we were down to Lex Hilliard. I can't be optimistic that they will be healthy at the end of this season until they prove otherwise.

People who are injury prone tend to suffer similar injuries. Brown has suffered a rash of freak injuries. Broken fingers for getting caught in the face mask, torn acl from tackling on in interception, and a foot injury because someone fell on his foot weird.

Look at Justin Smiley who has a shoulder problem, or Pennington who has a shoulder problem. if Smiley or Pennington get hurt, it is generally to their shoulder and not a surprise, since they are prone to injury in their shoulder.

Brown is more injury unlucky than injury prone.

IMO people can label him whatever they want, in the end, he gets injured consistently and he's missing games every year (except one IIRC).

I would not pay a running back large money unless they are game breakers. Those are the only running backs worth big money IMO.

The difference between the labels is future prediction. He does get injured incontinently, however does that mean he will get injured again in the future?

To me saying Ronnie Brown will get injured again next year is like saying someone who has won money on slots his last 5 times in the casino will win during his 6th.

Ronnie Brown is a game breaker.

No it doesn't mean that. However, I think past history also shows that you can't rely on that individual.

I think past history also showed that the last five times the guy in the example went to the casino he walked out with money. Does that mean you can rely on the guy to walk out with money?

Also of course it means that. If I want to rely or not rely on someone I want actual repeatable information. If a fluke happens 4 times, I shouldn't expect a fluke to happen a 5th, good or bad.

Well he changes games, therefore he is a game changer. Miami's game was complete changed when got hurt.

He gets injured, period. It doesn't matter how he got injured, he got injured. He's not out on the field every Sunday. People can twist this anyway they can in Ronnie Brown's favor. In the end, he gets injured. Often.

I don't think he's a game changer like the Adrian Peterson type, which I'm referring to. He doesn't break long runs. I'm fairly confident I can find a tailback in the draft in the mid rounds that can produce like Ronnie Brown. I'm also fairly confident that I am unlikely to find a tailback in the mid rounds that can produce like Adrian Peterson.

Some of the doubters will be singing a different tune when he tears up the NFL and is an all pro if not the MVP .

Lets hope we sign him before we comit the mistake that Rick Speilman did when he did not sign Oguneleye who could have been signed at a reasonable price .Instead we got snookered into a bad trade.

After his all pro season it was imposible to sign him .Ronnie will be too.

Likely to be next season. ;)

No need to be a smartass about it.

It sure is a twist IMO. No one can say anything bad about Ronnie Brown. And when someone says he is injury prone, which I think isn't too crazy to say, people say its bad luck. How many times can he have bad luck before he becomes injury prone?

An injury is an injury is an injury. Regardless of how it happens, it happens a lot and that IS a red flag. The guy has only played one complete season in his career. That certainly does little to instill confidence in the FO to sign him to a big money, long term deal.
