I'm sure these rookies can handle the Patriots' receivers. Link: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphi...1103dolphins.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=46
Thanks good read,I really like what I see from our corners so far,Smith plays good and never gives up on a play and Davis seems to deliver hard hits and play tough. I think they were really good picks that were needed. I really do believe they are our future Madison/Surtain.
My question is what are the coverage assignments going to be? I think Smith on Moss seems pretty obvious but Welker plays more slot so will that be Nate Jones or maybe safety coverage? I'm also more worried about their TE's in the red zone then their WR's.
sean smith had a horrible tackling game.. that boy needs to step up in that dept, and become a man. .
unfortunately i don't see that ever changing. tackling for corners is a mentality. Some have it (Davis) and some don't (smith), and i don't think it can be learned or picked up.
His strengths appear to be more prevention based, rather than remedial. A fair trade off, if he maximizes all that can be learned to limit YAC, or until necessary help arrives.
Is it Normal that when i see smith Vs Welker and vontae Davis vs MOSS That i want to get into the fedle position and cry?
if you will recall that when the patsies played buffalo, they went to a tight end twice at the end on the game for the win. Isolated the te on the imlb.. as soon as I saw it, I thought to myslf, BB will be saving that for us and shanning crowder...
Flip that around and i think we could do fairly well. Welker doesn't like a physical big hitting CB covering him. I forget what team this year had a physical corner on him and just hammered him all game long. Got Welker right out of his game.
lol...the rest of the NFL think his name begins with an S, lol, i heard them on nfl live call him shanning and noone even flinched....thats funny. I dont dig Shannings game, but i dig akin's even less, after what i saw out of Reggie against the jets, iam 100 percent ready to insert torbor into akins spot.
possibly the baltimore game he was 6 receptions-for 48 yards but this was his first game back after being hurt for two games which I think was a bigger factor in his performance.6 receptions for 48 yards would make him our #1 wide receiver!!!! Wes other games were 12 receptions for 93 yards 8 for 86 yards 10 for 150 yards 10 for 107 yards
It's the system. The guy is playing next to Randy Moss in the slot. Im not saying Welker is bad, im saying he benefits greatly from playing next to Moss. Think about it. First game he was hurt, a rookie stepts in (jets game i think) and gets 100 yards in his position.
Vonte is LAST in giving up the MOST yardage per pass out of 97 cornerbacks rated by http://www.profootballfocus.com Teams have thrown his way 24 times with 16 receptions for 360 yards or 22.5 yards per reception Sean Smith is #94 out of #97 in giving up the most yardage per pass.Teams have thrown to him 30 times with only 17 receptions for 337 yards or 19.8 yards per reception. The numbers say they give up big plays so to say our cornerbacks will handle WHAT THE PATRIOTS WILL THROW OUR WAY IS A BIT PREMATURE. Our defense against the pass is #29 in the NFL While the pats are #3 passing yardage team in the NFL
Who cares? Then we gotta stop the guy in the slot next to Randy Moss. I don't care what the jersey number is.
Man, that's not good. Not good at all. Could be a really long day Sunday. Better hope we can get to Tommy Boy. Love to get him rattled and throwing under pressure. Could be the difference in the game.
