Thought this was a good read about Ross and Ireland:

Nice with a little perspective to all the doom and gloom..

I think the writer was surfing TP boards.

I loved that article and imo it reflects poorly on this fanbase..
I think its time for this fanbase to share the blame of everything that goes down, there have been many great football minds that continue to fail here, and if you just keep thinking its because of the product on the field you kidding yourselves..
The environment, the culture here is digging us deeper and deeper to where not only do great football people fail here, but it seems to be part of the decision making in not wanting to come here..
Ross will have to identify the coach that is up and coming, who is naive to the culture, doesn't care, and has the traits to overcome and lead, despite the poor efforts and opinions of the majority.gunn34 likes this. -
LAWL @ perspective, facts, business sense, and rational thought. That will just get in the way of blindly berating the front office for doing their jobs...and in the end, isn't that what this site is REALLY all about? No, I'm seriously asking cause that's pretty much what it seems like.

I think the culture here is a bit cancerous to player development...I think you have players playing in this town with absolutely no motivation from their fanbase, I'am not sure how to quantify that, but to an athlete, who visions himself on the field gladiator style,I think their playing the game a bit short on emotion, passion, and motivation, relative to other teams, because of the poor actions of the majority of the fanbase..I think this culture is creating a very bad identity, and I do think its possible it has affects on players, and coaches. -

The doom and gloom, imho, is simply about the fact that the name brand guy (Fisher, Cowher or Gruden) would have had a much better opportunity to put together a better staff to either keep the positive things we have going for us going or revamp the team to what they envision... One of the hot coordinators they are considering likely will not have as much success putting together a good staff, especially the longer it takes to select a HC.
That's a major difference between what we might have had and what we are 'likely' to get...That said, there is a chance that they hit on the right coordinator and he is able to put a good staff together....
From there, it'll be in Ross' and Ireland's hands to acquire better talent, because that is root cause of our issues... -

I think fans have a legit reason to be pissed and frustrated at every player that doesn't pan out. Its because the Dolphins drafted those garbage players when they couldve had someone better. Not saying we need superstars all over the field, just that our misses are pretty big misses.
And the fact that they continue to draft these "developmental" QBs instead of at least TRYING to move up in the first and getting a good QB pisses everyone off. -

I wish the grammatical errors were the worst part of this amateur piece. There are tons of opinions that I just whole-heartedly disagree with. I mean Thomas was a good 2nd round pick... compared to Pat White! Tons of speculation on Ireland's involvement for the past 4 years. We don't scream for change, we scream about the ineptitude during change. We botched two crucial coach hirings in a row. That is how you kill a franchise. You pay a billion dollars for a team, learn the damn etiquette in hiring a coach, or find a GM who knows it. The guy is praising Clyde Gates and Jimmy Wilson as contributors. I mean, talk about stretching paper thin. Its a weak opinion-piece.
If we didn't care and get pissed, we would't be fans as our brain trust pisses away the present.
Now Spags is gone too, because we can't make a decision. Hey-Zues...we cant even get the right coaches in here from Green Bay to cherry pick! And people want to throw stones for making -Philbin / Cam Cameron comparisons?
k, lets see..
*Poach the person who wears the Offense badge from a wildly successful organization. -check
-despite other coaches playing a more significant role
-despite the other players being way better
-despite Aaron freakin Rodgers being the horse pulling the damn cart....
*Marry over-rated coordinator from successful system to maligned and underwhelming GM. -check. freakin. mate.
Billick was an offensive coach, and his team's O stunk.
Bellichik is a defensive coach, and his team's D stinks.
Jim Harbaugh was an NFL QB, and its his D that has them winning.
Cam Cameron couldn't get our O to do Jack.
Marvin Lewis was a D guru, but until he got Zimmer, they stunk on D.
It goes on and on. A coordinator isn't going to come in and bolster one side of the ball. We damn need a head coach, with serious names as coordinators.
Spags, Nolan...somebody of value. This is a bad time for us. -
Your theory is backwards. -

Get a coach that can coach and a Qb that can play and the culture will take care of itself. Fans have justifiably been skeptical of the decisions made, draft picks, hirings, etc they've been terrible. This fanbase is hungry for a winner and the owner spends money its been horrible decisions by the front office(s) that have been creating whatever "culture" that has formed here. Miami is an awesome place to coach and the team is rich with history, we've just had a bad string of people wasting our owners money and putting a bad product on the field. I don't blame the fans or media in any way shape or form for bad draft picks and horrible coaching. How many of our players go to other teams and play great? A few here and there, the bad players here are bad players everywhere.
