Per Rotoworld - The Dolphins worked out free agent LBs Ernie Sims and Omar Gaither on Monday.
Neither player has been signed but we need quality depth and both these guys can compete for starting roles. If the price is right, its a good idea.

I'd grab Sims.
-
I like ERNIEEEEEEEEE funny name, nah but forreal I always thought Sims was a good player.
-
Sims would be an interesting signing.
Not sure what happened from 08 to 09 though, because since he has just not been the same.

The more I think about it, the more I am leaning towards wanting Kuechly. It would fill a big need, and watching the film was so much like watching Zach... If we go defense in R1, I hope it is him! And the more I've read and watch Coples, the less I want him.

He kind of reminds me of Marvin Mitchell and I assume he'd fill a similar role, backup, ST type guy. I thought we signed Guyton for that reason but it's good to see we're still looking to improve the roster. -

Interesting in that they're both a lot smaller linebackers than they've bothered with before. It's also a bit curious that they're thinking about adding another veteran linebacker with starting experience/upside after picking up Gary Guyton.
Would like Gaither though, regardless. -
Coples is a boom or bust kind of player, If he can be motivated to give 100% all of the time he would be a great player but if he can't be motivated he would be a big disappointment and not even worth a 1st round pick. I think I am leaning toward Melvin Ingram but I find Whitney Mercilus, OLB, Illinois as an interesting player. He led the nation with 13 1/2 sacks last year. Of course this is all based on the Dolphins not going for a quarterback in the first round like most everybody predicts.
You know I am starting to warm to the idea of selecting Weeden. I think he is much closer to being ready to start than Tannehill and he has all of the skills and intangibles, his only detractor is his age but he could still give us some good years. -
If you like a player that is always in position to make a tackle but dosent because he is a terrible tackler, then yes Sims is your man. I watched him his first few years in Detroit and when he wasnt dinged up he certainly had the speed , but a terrible tackler..maybe he got better at Philly, but i doubt it.
