The Athletic's Bruce Feldman reports sources at Michigan "think" coach Jim Harbaugh would take the Raiders' head-coaching job if it is offered to him.
As Feldman notes, Harbaugh started his coaching career under owner Mark Davis' father, Al, as the Raiders' QBs coach back in 2002. He also has ties to the Vegas area after meeting his wife in the city. Harbaugh, 58, just wrapped up his seventh season at Michigan, winning a Big 10 title, overcoming Ohio State for the first time, and guiding the Wolverines to the College Football Playoff. He's done about as much as he can at his alma mater, outside of winning a national championship. Harbaugh has been out of the NFL since leaving the 49ers following the 2014 season. It's fair to wonder if the current game has passed him by, but he did inject a wealth of youth into his UM staff last offseason, getting Michigan over the hump in 2021. Davis could follow up his splashy Jon Gruden hire with another one as Gruden's successor.

I dont think thats going to happen… hes using the Raiders as leveragw to attempt to get that Lincoln Riley money from Michigan and Michigan will give it to Haubaugh.

Yeah, I don't think he will be too excited if he is forced to go with Tua. I think that will be a major obstacle in this coaching search.

May it be over soon so that we know where things stand.

Its laughable to think a team that tried to replace Tua for all of last year is now trying to force him on Harbaugh.

Miami didn't go after him because Ross cares more about Michigan.

I wouldn't mind Caldwell. Aside from himself, he would probably bring in some needed veteran presence to the coaching staff.

Would be totally fine with him, I just doubt he‘ll come to this franchise.

Depends on whether he saw Flores as the problem, or the combination of Flores, Ross and Grier.

I'd prefer Pederson, but agree that both would bring a much needed veteran coaching staff with them.

A terrible play call, terribly executed.

have the dolphins interviewed Peterson?

The guy i wanted to interview before we got flores was Greg Roman..

What i think this team needs is a true overhaul on what the coaching staff is suppose to look like.. each time we hire a head coach that coach brings in some position coach from this team to call plays.. another from that team…

Martindale, zimmer, nagy, fangio, culley, morrone, anthony lynn.. any one with a history of being a bright offensive or defensive mind are all welcomed on the dolphins to take the coordinators spot..

Lets build a super team on the coaching staff..

Ravens cut the DC. Lots of chatter that he won't be unemployed for long. Nobody considers him to be a HC candidate, but maybe he's a fit as our DC.

The front office doesn't have to disclose if they did since he isn't with a team at the moment.

Same here, Pederson would actually excite me. My list would be Pederson/Caldwell/McDaniel/Harbaugh in that order, but I think none will want to come here...

They are claiming that Harbaugh reached out to Ross and said “come get me, I’ll coach the Dolphins”

The same guy who thought Tebow was drafting in the first round?

Oh give him a break, will you?

That statement he made has nothing to do with his football intelligence.

Jon Gruden praises/praised QBs that were not worthy of being talked alot but he was a good coach .... if he wasnt too much of a homophobe and a racist he would've still been employeed.

Statement? Josh McDaniels drafted Tebow.

Hi guys,

I've finally managed to get back on here, after more than a year.

I was surprised and disappointed that Coach Flores was fired, especially with two consecutive winning seasons, and where we were after the first five weeks of his first campaign. I know we really should have made the playoffs, and the three defeats by a field goal or less were particularly galling, especially the one in London to the Jaguars, but I thought we were making progress under Flo.

Still, life goes on, but unfortunately, I don’t know enough about potential HCs to contribute any suggestions..

I enjoy reading what you have to say on the various Dolphins subjects, and I will contribute when and where I think appropriate.

Thank you, Galant.

It was so frustrating not being able to post, and join in the conversations, especially during that great winning run, but I saw most of the games, apart from the last two, when ironically enough, I was in the US.

I guess with a new HC, the way that we play defense will change, as the new guy will want his own coaching personnel. If so I will be disappointed, as I love all the different fronts we show

I know we have a relatively young roster, and they will (hopefully) improve together, and I am excited for the next few years, if we can get the HC appointment right.

Just watched Big O show apperently Daboll is our „goal“ but Omar thinks he’s going to the Giants. Vance Joseph is another candidate they wanna talk to. Man that really gets me going, I don’t know if I can hold all that excitement back…

Daboll and Joseph are probably the two worst candidates we could hire. But you know, the dolphins are gonna dolphin. The shit show will continue...

Yeah the only hope I'll have is if we hire Harbaugh. VFJ doesn't exactly spike my enthusiasm. Might as well bring in Andy Dalton or Colt McCoy to play quarterback.

Hiring Vance Joseph would cement the Dolphins as the laughingstock of the league.

Harbaugh doesn't excite me either. While being more competent than both Gase, Philbin, and Flores he pretty much lost his job for the same reason. Being terrible to work with. IMO, that could look like a disaster in the making, especially if they don't have amazing drafts like the 49ers had at the time. One of the better offensive lines in my lifetime.

Myself I like Daboll and Quinn due to the fact that both could hire great staffs. And then Mike McDaniel because even if he fails it will be entertaining.
