That's good news, I thought he looked pretty good during the pre-season. I was disappointed when they released him.
Great. Thanks. I really don't get why we dropped Johnson and picked up Walden after releasing Walden and keeping Johnson at the end of camp. ??? And, it's not like we lost an OLB or have a bevy of ILB's (with Crowder still out). Did they somehow think Johnson wasn't going to need time to develop? But, they need to make up their minds. Fickle management! I've never seen a team make so many roster moves - outside of injuries. It's like every 3-4 days, there are 3-4 roster moves. I understand churning the bottom of the roster, but this is like my wife deciding to paint the bedroom 3-4 times in a week. Enough already.
Yes. The contract for practice squad players is significantly less. The minimum is about $5200 a week, though you can pay guys whatever you want. The Dolphins have gotten guys in the past by offering more money. And there have been cases where players have been paid their 'regular' salary on the practice squad. Sort of an incentive to stay put.
Good. I like the kid. I know he's a bit of a one trick pony, but I really liked what I saw out of him in the preseason. Hope we can keep and develop him. Could be huckva football player in a year or two.
Muck - $5200/week or $5200/game? $5200/week sounds like the NFL League minimum broken down on a weekly basis. That comes to $270K per year which is pretty close to going rate for the the NFL League minimum for rostered players (such as UDFAs that make an active NFL roster). I could be wrong, but I always thought that once a player plays a regular season game, he is entitled to his entire annual salary for that season. If Im off here, can someone please enlighten me?
