Anyone going to check out this flick, opening tonight?
It's from the demented mind of Clive Barker, and through some scheduling oddity, it's opening at our discount ($2.50 a ticket!) theater. We're catching the 9:10 showing!!

Much Better. I noticed the film was done by acclaimed Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura. Makes me wanna see it even more.
Check out a movie called 'LoveDeath'. Great film...long, but great. -

We're South Florida, we get everything later than you Northern folks. Shoot, we didnt get 'Wild Cherry Pepsi' until the late 90's, about 15 years after it was available up North... -
And we never get snow, no matter how early you guys get it.

iv'e been waiting for this to come out for a long time. i read the story through the books of blood(several good storys by different writers) when i was in high school and thought it was great(and im not much into reading). unfortunately for me they are not showing this in my area(that i know of)but fortunately for me it should come to dvd rather quickly.
so for those that do get to see it in the theatres i would appreciate any nonspoiler reveiws or just a basic it was good/bad would suffice. -

Well, they're upholding their end of their contract. Various reports are coming in saying that Ryuhei Kitamura's Midnight Meat Train is hitting theaters this Friday, you'll just have to turn to your bargain theater to see it. Across the country, the Clive Barker adaptation is opening in venues where ticket prices are only one to two dollars! At the start of the week, Shock contacted a rep involved in the film to get an official theater count and potential listings - our query was not answered.
This maneuver is the latest in a line of unkind gestures towards the filmmakers of MMT. It began with rumblings of Lionsgate offering a limited release to fulfill its deal with production entity Lakeshore. Genre fans responded with petitions, catching the attention of Barker who endorsed a campaign for a wider bow. In the heat of this backlash, a little bird tells us Lionsgate's Joe Drake called for a meeting with Barker which "did not go well." And here we are, with a flaccid debut for an adaptation that was well-received in Montreal, at the Fantasia Film Festival, and at the San Diego Comic-Con.

i try not to judge a book(movie) by its cover...or its title...
but this has got to be the best movie EVER. -
Finally saw it tonight, and it's a good thing, as it closes here tomorrow.
If you like horror, and this is playing anywhere in your vicinity, run -- DO NOT WALK -- to see it. It is fantastic.ILPhinFan88 likes this. -
I'll prob have to wait for DVD, doubt it comes around here.

so can you tell us a few things about it without spoilers like how did the acting go? i read a review that said the acting was very b-ratedish and it was slow at times(iv'e read the book and know it wasnt ment as a fast paced action horror film) but it was probly coming from someone who never read the book. also how was the scare/jump factor? could you see things coming a mile away or were the scares unexpected? -

Heads up-if you have FearNet on your cable company's lineup (it is usually on On Demand channel), Midnignt Meat Train is on there. Free. Introduced by Clive Barker.
I just watched it and DAMN. Dr. AstroZoom wasn't exagerating-it is a gut punch of a movie. Awesome doesn't begin to describe it. Watch it NOW! -

I was a little surprised they decided to go with the whole "Time Machine" style ending with the ancient race of monsters. Would have been nice had they gave more backstory to it. Guess thats Clive Barker though. -
you know the Seinfeld episode when George wanted to be called T-Bone...well thats how i feel about this movie.
